OK... so im busting some hooj choonz at my place at around 6pm monday night. The Behringers were pumpin, the floor was vibrating thats how loud this was. Then all of a sudden, above the massive thrashing my speakers were pumpin out i hear the ear piercing screech/yelp which continued on for a good 15-20 seconds. :nervous: i immediately stop the music to hear what was going on, at this point horrified at the noise i could hear. At the time i wasnt 100% sure on what it was but it sounded like a dog of some sort had dropped a bar of soap in Alcatraz. A lil shocked i assumed some idiot was belting up his dog. The noise had ceased and i just stood there for a good minute wondering what the hell the awful noise was...
Deciding i would go out and have a look, i chuck on some shoes and bust out the front door. I ran down my stairs onto the driveway and walk out into the street. Couldnt see at this stage so i proceeded to the corner of my street to look up the street running adjacent to mine. When i get to the corner i notice a small puddle of blood on the floor and what appeared to be some torn off flesh on the road. I examined the blood and notice a trail leading to my neighbours house. I immediately follow the trail to my neighbours front door. Whatever had made the screech was obviously injured badly in some way, because it had left a small puddle of blood all over the neighbours front door steps. However the trail continues on past the front door, to the side fence of the neighbours house.... and then over to my drive way... At this stage i was like What the is going on so i follow the blood... (is this exciting?)
Following the trail i come to my driveway and notice smalls patches of blood running down my driveway and towards my stair case. At this point i didnt know what to think, Had i missed these on my way out of the driveway or had something snuck into my house while i was out searching? I almost immediately ruled out the second option because i would have seen something pass me on my way out, espeicially something with blood and pouring out of it :whip:
I continue towards my stairs only to notice the trail of blood leads up to my front door !! At this stage im a little spooked, how did i miss this when i left to see what was going on. I slowly made my way up the stairs in caution only to notice some big mudain puddles of thick blood... and thats when i saw the poor thing :(
A lovely looking Alsation/German Sheppard only around the 6-8 month old mark hiding behind a pot plant which sits to the blind area of which my front door opens to. On close inspection of the dog i had noticed its lower front right leg was severly injured, being almost severed from the rest of it. The dog was in shock and rather discomforted by the ordeal, so i comforted it with a constant pat on the head and some human to dog conversation which im sure it had no in idea what the fark i was saying but it made me feel better and the dog seemed to have calmed down a bit. I was on the mobile for a good long time trying to get someone with experience to come help me.
Eventually took the poor dog to the animal hospital where it was going to be treated for some busted up injuries
Later that night i found out that the dog belonged to our new neighbours and had somehow managed to escape whilst they had left the house. The dog originaly went home to seek help but had come over to my house after it had realised it owners werent home. Arent the minds of animals just amasing :)
Anyways no news yet on the dog, havnt seen any 3 legged creatures roaming their backyard but its only early days... if i find out what happened to the pup il keep this updated.
So... Hows that for some completely random ? From the look of it the dogs poor leg was crushed by a car for those of you who couldnt work this out for yourselves.
Oh by the way heres some pictahs i took... they are only mildy graphic but if u dont like the site of blood please dont scroll down

poor puppy i hope its ok
i can remember walking my dog one night when i was 12 and he stuck his paws under a fence to bark at a dog on the other side when the dog bit his leg. he then ripped his leg back from under the fence and almost tore it off. it was horrible. |

Oh man that's sad, you'll have to keep us posted on it's progress :(
The neighbours must have lost the plot to find out about what happened to their puppy. |

dogs sure are smart, in that photo it didnt look particularly concerned.
hope its alright, ive had something like that happen to mine infact, although in my case were not entirely sure what happened but it seemed as it had been stabbed, he had a deep gash behind his front leg we just put iodine on it and it healed eventually. |

OMG poor puppy! :( :(
That's so much blood. He probably would have died if it hadn't been for you. Go you! :)
I hope they can save his leg. Unlikely if it was nearly severed, but who knows. Vets are clever people.
And nice of the person who hit him with their car to stop. |

830... for a trauma patient!!! thats ed... someone should write a letter to the government explaining the plight of animal hospital waiting times... even humans bleeding that much dont have to wait that long regardless of how ugly they are!!
from the looks of those pictures id say there would be about 400 to 500mls of blood loss max...
i wish i was allowed to take pics of my patients, one guy today had completely degloved his arm.. that was in cool! |

Vman you Good Samaritan!:stongue: ;)
Thats so sad, poor dog.
I hate to see any animal hurt like that.
My dog nearly got attacked a few months ago, luckily wasnt too serious, she was just really terrified & nervous. Poor thing, if anything ever happened to my dog id lose it, she is part of the family and worth more to me than some humans.

stabbed?
If its one thing I despise with a passion, its people who torture or are cruel to animals. That really fires me up, those sort of people should be taught a real lesson and thrown in a pit of fire or into an oven or something.
