Armin is not getting any better, he's just trying to keep up with the times. Playing techy-electro house in his sets, as does every other trance DJ out there - goes to show how many trance tracks there are out there - there is the occassional one or 2 tracks that Armin plays thats good, otherwise, I do alot of fast forwarding until i hear something I like.
Honestly, I think the skill of DJ's is depleting... I cant find any good sets anymore (no matter genre), they all - for the most part - are boring and monotonous. I dont know why, but with the exception of a few, DJs just dont like to genre hop... |

Personally i think people bitch too much.
I enjoyed Armin at the Tobacco warehouse. I enjoyed him back in 02 or 03 when he spun at Roxy. |

| Armin has what it takes to be one of the best DJs in the world, but he follows the same pattern that all other DJs follow. He plays the same set over & over again at every event, just mixing up the same tracklisting. I think he would much more entertaining if he spins the tracks that he plays in his ASOT sets and used a few of the older popular tracks as fillers. People would then be more excited when going to his parties because they wouldn't know what to expect. |

Quite a few songs that are played on ASOT are not club worthy. |

wasn't he playing at Spirit in January? If so, that was the ONLY set I wasn't going completely nuts to. I have seen armin 9 times in the past year and that one was in last place for me. |

Yeah. Not sure if it was just Gabby, but A&G did open and played stuff that was a bit too hard for opening. |

| I've known of Armin's productions for years but I haven't been around for his live sets long enough to say whether he's changed for the better or worse. I definitely do recognize that he's more pop than a good deal of other trance dj's out there. He pretty much just plays the hits i.e. whatever's hot at the moment. Can't really go wrong with that as far as attracting a large audience is concerned. Whether it's his goal to go ultra-mainstream or not, I think he'll definitely be sucked in as long as he continues spinning the type of stuff that he does. |
