I think it's more of a discussion of the current state of the forum, and maybe even steps that could be taken to make the forum reading experience a bit better. |
Absolutely, but not also making the reading experience better but also an attempt to uphold the integrity of the board.
Graham, you could speak on my behalf anytime, you're very articulate.

People need to remember how to censor things themselves, they aren't robots who have to open every thread just so they can bitch about it.
|
Obviously Josh, but ideally wouldn't you rather have a msgboard where people enjoy the content rather than excelling at ignoring peoples comments.

this looks more like a bunch of people who post on the same board as opposed to a community. |
I disagree completely
I have a feeling the lockdown is coming soon on this behemoth of a thread, and I just wanted to say thanks for all the progressive comments/ discussions/ opinions. It’s help to shed some light on this topic for me and maybe it might make a difference in people's posts. |

| I personally don't see a problem with any of the roll call/review/picture threads etc....what I do find extremely annoying is when promoters/DJ's constantly shove events or self promotion in my face. At the end of the day they're only hurting themselves because it gets to the point where I'm so sick of seeing/hearing their name I'm like "ok, i get it for the 15th time... off already", and more than likely won't support the event. |

Jon don't get me wrong, I agree with you on much of what you have to say.
However disagree with your opinion about maximizing the quality of content on the message board.
John Stuart Mill argues that the best way to come up with good content is to have no restrictions, which then allow for the greatest variety of ideas to be brought forth.
From the ideas can be objected to, defended and either accepted or rejected by the masses.
I know its a bit much to apply utilitarian philosophy to tranceaddict, but i just don't like the idea of having overly restrictive laws about what you can and can't post.
I would rather make my own decisions about what i want to read, rather than not have the option to read it at all in the first place. |

And after 150+ replies and over 2500 views, I don't think a single thing has to, or will change. |
