Also, I have noticed that the longer I have been on TA, the more pressure I feel to be a little bit more careful in what I say on this board. Although I'm a very candid person, and most of the time post what I feel, I cannot ignore the pressure from various sources that I now feel when I press the "post reply" button. It makes you wonder about the "quality" or even truthfulness of the posts posted by other people in my position. Most people aren't as candid as I am. |
I agree w/ you Grahamers. |

We already have a forum for reviews/pics/etc

It's just not a forum that TOTAs go to. (And many of us do not bother to venture out of TOTA)

With the difference being that i still let it fly... because at the end of the day my feeling is that it doesnt really matter to me if anyone else agrees or not. |
Hah. I most definitely do not suffer from lack of candidness. :p |

Well done, sherlock.
I have no desire to be part of a board that is just information. I like people's personalities and comments and randomness and if a thread title doesn't interest me, I don't click on it.
How about I start a chat forum for people on here who like to chat? That is what I thought this was. A common ground for people who love music to chat about music, parties and random stuff.

IUnless I know someone personally, I find it hard to take anything anyone is saying about a party on this board seriously. Even when I do know someone personally, I always take their possible motives for their posts into account. I find that this board is turning into more of an avenue of promotion than a place to find out where good parties in Toronto are.
. |
yea its all a load of bs around here lately. there aren't alot of people on here that I take too seriously when it comes to reviews or opinions or whatever. WHY? you just know that alot of people are friends with so and so or work for a place or are just here to promote themselves or whatever! their opinons will invariably be skewed or biased no matter how much they say they aren't and it just leads to me thinking most peoples ideas / opinions on here are completely useless.
:haha:
that being said I really dont really give a what people post and who posts it. i ignore most of it anyways and i find it more amusing then anything else. id also like to think that i can decipher between those that do keep it real and those that dont.

hey i had to....its the only place any of u can catch me playing...lol
its really annoying though to see how everyone (except those who do attend the AWS) keep saying on here "its all about the music" and "oh i wish i could go somewhere but its a weekday night so i cant go out late to a club" and say so many different things...this is a free weekly thing with dirt cheap booze and awesome djs and tunes....+ its early and one can head to bed in time for work the next day....
so the question is..where is everyone???

Can we mark this down as the second or third time we've agreed with each other?
It's easy to skim over things you don't like, but I have to say it's so annoying to be reading an event review looking for an actual review of the night and get 10% event review, 90% "omg it was so great dancing with u!" |

agreed but thats part of the community. If people didnt add their personal touch it would be boring. Yeah it does get cliquey sometimes but thats when i just skim to the next post.
No biggie! |

this is why I started the thread in the first place, I'd prefer the board not becoming a huge joke someone ignores. |

I think the idea of having a place for roll calls, reviews and pictures is not a bad idea at all.
It should be run just like the event thread where there is only one post for each roll call, review and picture thread, and they are organized based on the date of the event. They could stay on the page for a certain number of days, then afterwards be moved backwards like it is in the "past events" pages. It would make things easy to find, and take them out of the main forum. |
I like this idea. It would make it so easy for anyone to find a roll call/event pic/review thread without having to search through pages and pages of threads. And it makes sense that they should all be together.
Also - waaaay back on page 1 - Nice post, Margs. :) |

Sure, but people can add their 'personal touch" as part of their event review.
Event reviews on this board eventually spiral into pages and pages of mindless banter without an actual review being posted.
I can only think of a few event reviews on tribe that have gotten anywhere near as long as the average party review on TA. |
