Desyn Masiello Vs. Jimmy Van M
How can they advertise a party, tell everyone it's going to start after 12, then let no General Admission people in after 11:30. Me & and friend were 3rd on line to get in at 11:30. We waited for about 2 hours. Bouncers walked up and down the line selecting pretty girls to let inside. At around 1am the 2 guys in front of me asked when they would be let inside, and the bouncer tells them, probably not for another 2 hours. It's not like this was some huge event that sold out. We gave up and went to drum & bass party at Love at like 1:30.
It's sad to see places that bring talent stoop to such low standards. I heard the same thing happened for Trentemoller a few weeks ago. |

| ^^ I have not had the experience in NYC (yet) that I or other women need to use their looks to get in places. I have never had a problem and I am noo supermodel!! I dont think the EDM scene (in my experience) is as bad as some of the other scenes in new york. |

Bouncers hate guys like you. Unless your retarded comments are accompanied by a $20 (or more like $100 from what barosoap said Cielo's mob scene was like last night), you're not gaining points.
I can't understand why you guys thought this would be an easy to get into party. I'm actually suprised how many people barosoap said were inside that we knew, but they showed up with 4:1 girl:guy ratios or are industry people. Cielo is a really small, intimate venue and it's just not big enough to let everyone in.

Hey Tom, sorry you had such a bad experience at the door. Had I seen you, I would've brought you in with me. I got there at 1am and waited about 15 minutes to get in only because they had to hold the door for a little while. Unfortunately, last night was a complete mob scene. GhB and I have been to Cielo 20+ times and have never experienced chaos at the door like that.
The main issue was management never kicked out the people from the SMUT launch party. They were already at capacity when they started letting people in for the Balance party at 12:30. The only ones getting in at that point either had connections, were with lots of girls, or were greasing the bouncers.
A friend that works at Cielo said they've only had 2 nights in the past few months that have been that packed. One was Trentemoller, and the other was Behrouz. Normally, the door policy is pretty reasonable. Management's mistake was double booking 2 big parties on a Friday night. There wasn't much the door people could do. Even those who wanted to buy tables were out of luck. Everything was sold out. |
