I want to see this badly. For me, GoldenEye was my favourite since it was the first BOnd film I saw in the theatres. I have to say that I"ve only actually sat down and watched maybe half the Bonds, most of them the later ones with Dalton and Brosnan.
Brosnan was a good Bond but other than his first movie, he was given ing awful stories and scripts. Not his fault.
But this Craig guy is a great actor and I love how they've moved away from the stupid campy stuff to grittier realism. |

I don't think I've agreed with a single thing you've said, ever. |
This one sentence is small but a mighty review..
Jon.. your review has convinced me to see this. Based on what you have said I think there is a good to great likleyhood that I will enjoy the movie.. I have not seen any Bond movies so I won't have anything to compare it to.. :) |

i watched this with my parents, since my dad likes bond. We thought it was crap. i give it 2.5/5
ye guy does a good job playing bond but the plot itself is so lame and boring, and way to predictible ( i wont spoil tho). There was barely any action and the movie just kept dragging on and on. I was expecting to see a much better movie.
my favorite bond movie has to be Goldeneye and this new one doesnt even compare, it looks like a cheap low budget bond movie |
I second.....the movie was dissapointment 2.5/5....
the first hour is all action which is crazy.....sum tony jaa if u no wat i mean...
the poker scene was cool....
But the whole love story n that bull was boring as hell...
No major villians.......n Bond never quits.....
This movie drops half way thru...if ur gunna to watch this movie walk out half way thru n keep the other hour of ur life.... |

I thought it was very good and delivered the much needed update that the Bond franchise needed because it was getting a bit stale lately. There's really no use in comparing this to the old stuff because I think there was a delibarate intent to change things up and make it edgier. Less cheesiness and smooth operator crap.
This time Bond's character is more multi-dimensional. Daniel makes him grittier but at the same time allows some vulnerability to show through, which I did appreciate. The overall effect is that the film is more realistic than its previous versions. My only reservation was that they could've picked a prettier Bond girl but after seeing the whole thing, Eva seems to fit the role well.
Looking forward to the next one to see how Daniel develops this character.. |

Anyone noticed Richard bronson in the airport being checked with the hand held metal detector???
|
Richard Branson, yeah and about 10 mins later you see a Virgin plane landing. The product placement in this movie was brutal. Sony being the most annoying. |

Pretty much what I thought.
IMO the twists in the story did leave me a bit WTF like but since I was too engrossed to the movie and not trying to figure the plot out, it was good for most part.
In a way, I think the director and the writers took few pages out of Alias in terms of multi layered plot, but we'll have to see how it plays out.
I guess it's matter of taste but I though Eva Green played the Bond girl well. Loved the banter and interaction between her and Daniel Craig.
4.5/5 |

ok i know im a bit late, but better late then never.
overall it was a pretty good movie. The best part was at the start with the chase scene. soo many awesome moves, it kinda reminded me of ONG BAK.
personally, at times it seemed like the movie would go on forever, especially during the poker game.
and the product placement was just awful. |

like an hour of the movie was POKER... and they didnt even make it exciting |
What??? I thought Bond's game was Baccarat? Looks like they rewrote to hop on the current trend?
No standout villans???
I guess it's hard for any bond movie to have a better villain than Jaws.
IMO
I'm still going to see it, haven't missed one yet. |
