Review: Bond - Casino Royale

Honestly, SO GOOOOOOOD!
So far my fav for 2006 (with only a few months left). I'm NOT a Bond fan, but I'm a huge Daniel Craig fan, and he ing nailed the role.
The story is tight (incredibly well written), great Bond characters, action/stunts are some of the best I've ever seen and the overall feel of the film is much grittier than previous Bond's.
It's much much more realistic, and it only has a 5% "unrealistic WTF AS IF" factor, but c'mon it's Bond.
And lastly, it has some killer twists, just the way a spy movie should be.
Go see it, I might go again. |

I'm going to have to completely agree with you Jon. I saw it last night and I was blown away. The theater I was in gave it a standing ovation, I couldn't believe.
Like you, I'm not a huge bond fan although I love poker which played a strong role in the movie. I don't care who you are but if you like to be entertained this is definitely a movie to see.

| Thanks for the recommendation! I wasn't going to go see it, but i've heard from other people (and now here) that it is pretty good. I guess I'll have to get my buttox out to the theatre and check it out! |

Seriously this movie was amazing (it definitely blew me away), watched it last night and will probably watch it again tomorrow.
I like how someone in a review said that it is the Batman Begins of Bond films, well I believe it goes past that even.
Really you have never seen a James Bond like this one before and you will be missing out on a LOT if you fail to see it now.
Cannot wait for the DVD release.
Also a note: this movie sets up Bond's character and shows how he becomes who he is in so many details (especially little things) which I will not go into so as to not spoil the movie for you.
Daniel Craig is perfect for this role, and although I loved Layer Cake, this takes that admiration to a whole new level.

Edit: grafal were you at SilverCity in Richmond Hill by any chance? Because the audience got up to applaud here as well.

i watched this with my parents, since my dad likes bond. We thought it was crap. i give it 2.5/5
ye guy does a good job playing bond but the plot itself is so lame and boring, and way to predictible ( i wont spoil tho). There was barely any action and the movie just kept dragging on and on. I was expecting to see a much better movie.
my favorite bond movie has to be Goldeneye and this new one doesnt even compare, it looks like a cheap low budget bond movie |
