Seriously though, where do you live? |
the midlands, which is the area in pink here (east mids), plus the one directly next to it (west mids)

It's quicker to fly to spain than to drive to any of the nearest coastlines, plus you won't get chlamidia and some sort of needle stuck in your foot on the beaches there. |

didn't see that second question:
Rides 51 total
* 17 roller coasters
* 5 water rides

Here's a weird fact: My picture is in the 2000 Guinness book of world records. When the Riddler first came out, i was one of the few people that was allowed to ride for "media day." Basically my job was to miss a half day of school, go to magic mountain and ride the Riddler 31 times in a row and just let the media take picutres. I was in a store one day flipping through a Guinness book and accidently found my picture! |
Haha, that's cool! |

I didn't spend much time in the midlands when I lived in England, it was either South or North for me (or Scotland). I lived in Devon for a while, and there were so OK beaches there (so many rocks though!). And north, well...there's Blackpool :wtf:
Where in the Midlands though Ian? |

My Seattle review:
A metropolitan city of around 3 million. Nestled in a natural harbor, this city of rolling hills and breath taking vistas is the home to many cultures. Pacific Culture is, of course, the most prevalent in the area with universities boasting over 40% asian populations.
To the East the cascade mountains are less than an hour away and are available in the summer for lake side camping and woodland exploring with enough streams and rivers to keep even the most jaded hiker entertained for hours or days.
In the winter, the Summit at Snoqualmie is divided into multiple ski, snowboard, and terrain parks that attract state wide attendance.
Farther East is Eastern Washington. A more arid land, it is the agricultural heartland of the state.
Here you can find the Columbia Gorge and also THE Gorge. The River Valley's brisk winds are a favorite for the windsurfers, but it has enough calm spots to where some award winning fishing and white water rafting can take place.
It is also the #1 hops producer in the world. As you can imagine, this has spawned a plethora of micro breweries that have tastes that have variety bound only by the brewers imagination. It leads to a very active pub scene of ccozy dens, high browed sipping houses, and due to the indoor nature of 2 of the seasons, a variety of lounges and relaxation joints.
To the North is Mount Baker, bellingham, and Canada. You can experience the rugged beauty of our northern neighbor in less than two hours and be back in time for supper.
To the NorthWest is the Puget Sound and the Straits of Juan de Fuca. These tempestuous shores and wild waters are the most dangerous and most life filled waters in the world. If you enjoy island hopping, scuba diving, or boating, you have access to some of the most amazing sights in existance.
To the West are the Olympic mountains. A temperate rainforest and a state preserved wild life reserve and park, you can truly be free of civilization here. Over looking the waters of the pacific you can relax under an ancient pine and smoke a pipe as the rich culture of the North West indians once did. As deer and the large variety of wilde life wander by go ahead and take a sip of that bottle of micro brew you brought for this time, you deserve it.
Farther west is the wild coast where the rough and tumble surfers of washington go. The rocks beaches fade into grassy sand dunes and wind tossed seas. A great place to pull out the peace pipe and relax over a midnight fire.
To the south is Nou. Avoid the south at all costs. :p
but also, Mt. Rainier. Its pretty cool...cooler to look at from a distance. I dont suggest actually going there. I think St. Helens is down there too :p And you can go to Portland if you want although I dont know why you would.
Between the nation wide renowned lakes such as Samammish for boating and hydro plane contests, the twin mountain ranges, the ocean of amazing bounty, the nice people and the eclectic culture; if you want to do it, you can.
Vietnamese noodles or a 5 star seafood restaurant on the bay with the days fresh catch waiting for you we have it all.
As far as events and festivals, Seattle is not short handed in that area either. During the summer there is sea fair with the World famous Blue Angels doing their breathtaking stunts over head and giving one hell of a show. The hydro plane races also take place during this time.
There are beer festivals, science fairs, and celebrations year round.
The City of Seattle itself only gets 40 inches of rain a year, much less than foot hills in the rain shadow.
Indian summers, colorful falls, snowy winters, and life giving springs all make up the rich environment we live in. With a sport, activity, and fair to choose from every season, there is always something to look forward to.
We also boast a powerful technology center with some of the worlds most powerful companies such as Microsoft and Boeing residing here.
A high standard of living and easy to grasp. It is a land of life, a meeting of cultures, and a communal sense of ownership that leads our fair city to be one of the most beautiful, enriching, clean, and lowest crime cities in the nation. And also in the top 10 fittest for obvious reasons. |

Good review... though... :p
The southern part is not all that bad, the lower part of the Puget Sound is pretty amazing. If you are a boater/kyaker then this area is for you! There are hundreds of little bays and inlets that you can travel, as well as many state parks to visit.
Also to the south you have the rolling hills that stretch out to the coastal plains and the many large bays on our coast. Driving the roads out there is a truely amazing experience!
Don't forget the Southern Cascades are pretty amazing too, Crystal Mountain is the largest skiing resort in the state, and boasts some of the best terrain on the west coast. The view to the south of Mt. Rainer is INCREDIBLE on a good day, it looks like you could reach out and touch the peak. Also you have other smaller resorts like Whites Pass too which are pretty fun. |
