Hello friends, this is Gio From San Francisco, California.
I just got a Virus TI and i would like to make a couple of questions about it.
First I am amazed with the sound, the posibilities, the desing, etc.
This synth is amazing, you can produce any style of music, i prefer to produce trance with it but you can do wherever you want to do with it.
BUT...
I have a huge problem as soon as i connect this synth to the computer.
Latency is horrible. Unacceptable. There's no way to work with such a latency.
I use a Dell XPS GEN2 M170, 2gb ram, Pentium M 1,6. Windows XP sp2.
Emu 1616m, as a sound card. inactive right now. because i want to use the $2000 dolars virus TI audio interface.
I did everything, upgrades, used different software, etc, etc. Latency is still there frustrating myself.
Could you please tell me your configuration or any tip about this synth.
I refuse to belive that I spent Almost $4500 dolars in the computer, the virus and the Emu1616m and I am not able to produce a track without spending 4 hours solving problems.
Could you please let me know about your experiences with this synth?
I really need help with this.
thanks a lot

Thanks for replying!
There is something about the version of Live. The 5.2 is the right one. I have 5.0.3
I need to upgrade Live.
Anyway i know that is not the problem.
I already tried it with many differents seq, cakewalk, acid, live, fruity...
Is there any Virus TI user who hasnt have latency? I'm not talking about that unperceptible one, I'm talking about a horrible delay.
I tried to use out1+2 but still bad.
thanks a lot

i dont have a virus TI but im looking to get one in a week or so...
if you have a seperate audio interface, i would suggest using that instead of using the virus TI interface and see if that solves the latency problem... |

| I have a TI and my latency is fine, but I don't use it as master asio driver. The only problems I have with it are the VSTi plugin taking crazy gay ammounts of cpu, and it gets off synch with midi clock every once in awhile and I have to reset it. |

| Ummm then why not monitor them via the audio outs on the Virus. You skip VControl completely and you can get it down to 1 ms latency easily - been doing that on my Virus B for years. When you want to render, just do it through the plugin and trim the dead zone at the start. |

Thanks a lot for all this replies.
Derivative you are right, using out1+2 gives me almost 0 latency.
The problem is solved now. I am very happy with this. The good thing is that the virus vst record every single information coming from the knobs.
So when i need to render i just select usb1+2 and is done, right?
Thanks everybody.
