I've got Sennheiser HD555s (which suck for the music I listen to.. they're sooo comfy though) and AKG K81DJs, my primary electronica cans, but my problem with the K81s is that they're ridiculously uncomfortable after about an hour since I wear glasses. I'm seriously considering replacing my Senns with these because I hear the comfort is great, and they're good all-around cans (especially good for electronica, i've heard). After reading the other thread on these and your reply, I think I'm going to put my Senns up for trade on Head-fi for a pair of these :D |
Good lad - you won't regret it. If you do I'll let you punch me in the face. |

Probably some sort of a hub to network the two laptops and / or connect other instruments with the laptops. |

Anyone know what MIDI controller that is? At first I thought it was the Evolution MK-425C (the one I've got) but there are more knobs and the buttons are to the right of the lcd instead of under it. |
looks like an m-audio oxygen to me, nice setup, but as stated, overkill when 2 techs and a good mixer can do the job. |

I don't think the Oxygens have pitch bends and modulation wheels. This has me baffled...
ahh found it, it's an Emu Xboard 25.

| my question is what the is the controller on the left used for. I saw him using it on thursday at Metropolis and couldn't figure it out. In retrospect perhaps it might be for on the fly time travel. |

Ya just for the record, not sure how many of you here use Digital to dj with but yeah...
There is no way in hell he could possibly make use of all those MIDI knobs/faders/pads/thingers/etc throughout the course of the night, especially since he's only using 1 laptop for Ableton live, dont forget that the xone:3D also has 8 MIDI faders + how many MIDI knobs?
I agree with whoever said this was overkill, Sasha is the man for having that Maven designed, and Sasha spins with 10 decks! (Virtual :p ) |

| For all that gear in that picture, to tell you the truth, his sets really don't seem that creative and unique with all that gear. I thought it'd sound a lot more expanded and dynamic but I don't think you can really do that with trance, for how I've heard him mix, why not just use 2 CDJ's and a mixer? The sets really aren't that special... |
