I got this PM yesterday and whilst I don't think I am applicable in many ways, I offered to post this request for those of you who feel you may have a story or experience to share...
Hey Rachel,
My name is Layal. I got your email through the tranceaddict webpage. The reason I am emailing you is because I am researching a story idea on whether or not a spiritual experiences can be found through raving, trance music and ecstasy. I am an assistant producer for 360 Vision, a current affairs show that explores spirituality and faith issues on Vision TV, a multifaith network in Canada. I have also been to Guv several times and the Comfort Zone (once so far) so I'm pursuing something I have experienced myself.
I am basically looking for people, particularly women and visible minorities, who would be willing to share their experiences on-camera. I am searching for people who regularly experience mystical experiences through raving as well as those who would say that there is nothing spiritual to be found in the scene. I am not sure if you are interested, but I would also really appreciate it if you could pass this along to friends who may be. Thanks very much!

LOL... can spirituality be attained through raving? Gee, I wonder. What do you think tribal cultures do around camp fires? Bang on the drum and rave. What we do is little more than that, on a larger scale. Of course spirituality can be realized through raving - thats what I've been experiencing for years. Nothing new there.
However, where this makes a crucial mistake is where people go on camera and summarize their "mystical experience". Anyone who has had one, truly, knows that any attempt to put it into words is going to come up far short, and end up trite and pathetic - painting it with a stigma that highlighted the childishness of the first rave boom.
No thanks ;) |

| it would be an interesting show to watch, in order to get a good discription of peoples mystical experiances, the show must interview people who know about the subject. In the eRising documentry, the older speakers (Phds, Shulgin, Therapists) realy did a good job at defining the experiance but the younger once (ravers) make it seem like a party thing and nothng more. |
