yah, imovie is pretty sweet. you can do some cool stuff on WMM too - but it tends to crash a lot too . so it can be time consuming |

I took four years woth of film classes - if you're on Mac, Final Cut Pro is best - but that can be challenging to use. Avid is also another pro program, but I have very minimal experience with it. I'd avoid adobe premiere on mac if you can get the other two, although it is more of a 'pro' program than iMovie. For sheer ease of use, iMovie is great. I find that even after taking film classes, if I need to put something together quickly, nothing beats iMovie.
On the PC side, avoid windows movie maker like the plague. It's pure crap, plain and simple. Adobe premiere is available for windows, as is Avid. I'd recommend avid over Premiere though.
Final cut express is also good for mac; it has the core features of final cut pro, but is less expensive, and is missing features that most people won't use anyway. |
