NIC BENNISON

Nicholas' popularity rose through the mid to late '90s after performing powerful and technically brilliant sets at hundreds of events each year and mixing two of the US' best selling Trance Global Nation CDs which collectively sold over 50,000 copies. Nicholas continues to champion driving tech trance and sleek progressive house that lurks beneath the mainstream surface and DJs for major production companies around the World including Spundae, Giant, La Boom, Clear Channel, Go Ventures, Destiny, B3 Cande, Channel 36 & Global Electro. Performing at "Massives" such as Nocturnal Wonderland and Together As One and alongside Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Hernan Cattaneo has solidified Nicholas' reputation.

As a producer, Nicholas has crafted a powerful sound and his tracks are played by the world‘s biggest DJ's and have been licensed to major mix CDs including Paul Van Dyk’s Mixmag 2005 Compilation, Ferry Corsten’s ‘Infinite Euphoria’ (Ministry of Sound), Christopher Lawrence‘s “Subculture” (System Recordings), and Marco V’s ‘Combi:Nations’ (Universal). Nicholas has collaborated with other world renown artists including Christopher Lawrence, Gareth Emery, Chris Cowie / X-Cabs and Graham Gold and these and his solo productions have been released on the finest labels including Joof (UK), Five AM (UK), Recoverworld (UK), Duty Free / Intensive (UK), Acting Out (Sweden), Screen (Italy), Source of Gravity (UK), & Looq (USA).

Nicholas also has numerous releases on his own label, Propulsion Records. Launched in 2003, the label has seen considerable success with its unique sound that treads the line between progressive and trance and doesn't easily fit into either one of those categories. Artists include Christopher Lawrence, Hook & Bellboy Recording's legendary producer, Chris Cowie / X-Cabs, Leon Bolier, Steve Birch, Descent, Inkfish, Thomas Penton and Miika Kuisma.

Nicholas was first commissioned by Arcade America to mix the second installment of their hugely successful Trance Global Nation series and skillfully mixed what went on to be one of the best selling US mix CD’s of 1999. Based on the success of TGN2, Nicholas was invited back to mix the fourth CD in the series, second time round having full control over the track selection. TGN4 was released during 2000; a tough and intelligent album representative of Nicholas’ true underground sound. To support the CDs, Nicholas headlined the Trance Global Nation Tour (featuring Jerry Bonham, D:Fuse, & Doran) and visited cities throughout North & South America, Canada and Asia. Nicholas’ third CD, “Crystal Vol.2,” was released through AM Recordings in 2001 as another testament to his unique and uncompromising style.
