dude, just be a bit more creative. making flyers isn't hard. i am at PS, but i've had to make some makeshift flyers a couple of times when we couldn't afford a real designer.
here's one:
and another one i did for a beer week thing we threw a party at:
really cluttered i know, but i had to get a lot of info across, and it was short notice.
they probably suck, but i don't know about PS. only what i've learned from ing around myself. in any case, just think for a bit, you'll be able to come up with some great ideas. |

the text is too simple, too solid. and uniform.
colours and background are acceptable.
and, yeah, remove the pills, if you want an image, try something more subliminal. |

By the way the flyer and this piece were both done on Adobe Illustrator CS2 not Photoshop. |

| export it to photoshop and further modify it. a combination of the two programs is the best way to go, i've found. |

I think with flyers you either go classy or messy. From the looks of things your event would be better suited to the latter category. You need to make the design busier.. Make the name of the party in more fancy lettering. More random pics of parties, preferably with lasers and hot women. It's not an info brochure, people should look at it and be visually reminded of how good a time they're gonna have/ how messed up they'll get. |
