Review: Erick Morillo at the Docks Dec 2-06 (pg. 3)

this had a very good potential..setup was great, lots of space, nice crowd
what killed it was morillo's track selection and the sound in the main room. Where were the party tunes? he played minimal, breaks and trancy house with 5min buildup that in the end just went nowhere and at some points even tribal house, wtf? i dont't know.. not what i was expecting |

Over hype and expectations are really the problem there, generally, I feel.
If one isnt STELLARLY BLOWN THE AWAY by a set, then the reviews seem to be negative on the whole (generally).
Either parties seem to be CRAZY AMAZINGLY SUPER GREAT, or otherwise, if not, then it gets summed up to they sucked (werent that great) and negative comments abound. :) |

I had an amazing time last night... it just had to do with DJ's other than the one on my T-shirt and the awesome friends that I was able to spend time dancing with :D |

My review was 100% honest actually, thanks. I have nothing to gain by sugarcoating and im a big enough Morillo fan to know when he's e and say it.
I had a fun night regardless, but this is a review thread and discussing both positive and negatives about a party are what its for. |

Erick is my fave DJ, and on an honest note,he blowed some SERIOUS balls last night....some FLOW to his set would have been wonderful... or perhaps not dropping 3 of his most well known songs in the first 45 mins and then dying.... ah regardless i will post a better review later...

| Was an okay party. I was expecting a lot more from Erick Morillo but overall it was an average night. Nothing too memorable at all. |

RICHARD DINSDALE stole the show that's for sure! all the way from the u.k. such an awesome guy great to finally meet ya!!!....and was awesome to see him and simon go vs.
i spent my night in that room except when i did my infamous wander into a vip area and actually get in...and then i saw him standing before me... "wait a minute aint you puff daddy?!" i just ignored myself and went back to the dancefloor and then i heard "it's pdiddy?!" look up yup it was him lol wtf wasnt expecting that doesnt he charge like 100,000 dollars to show up at events, guess he and morillo are tight?
Tommy Gunners, Richard Dinsdale, Simon Jain and Hatiras were the only performances i went for, great ing job guys, dirty beats all night long just kept me going non stop FTW!
honestly morillo really bored me ... was told he sucked but i make that call myself and i dont think he sucks but as everyone else said, he didnt bring his a, b, or c game at all
David A ...you're truly an amazing person even tho i did get angry at you for potentially not coming to docks :) just cause i was hurt that you werent going to see me :( but i sorry and i lubs!
ps/ thanks for the line by pass i didnt realize that's what it was i thought i paid for u to get in lol and thank you for the gatorade ur always lookin out for others we need a lot more people like u in this world and im blessed to have a friend like you!
Carlucci u wanderin animal lol every time i saw you it was like u were in another world and just wandering and bopping around to music hehe great times glad to see ya finally we partied again!
Danny, Tony, Tyler, you guys ing rock that's for escorting us to the dark and scary place and lookin out for me :) always a blast every event i go to u guys are there and we all stick together or atleast check on eachother and have a great time and dance offs like no tomorrow :)

thanks to the rev girl for the thong and glowstick aka tampon lol wore it loud and proud :D knew i was gonna be trouble when the security lady at the front door said ur too cute and funny go on get in there and have some fun! cause i was making jokes to her ..then i walk in and get handed that stuff of course i was going to wear it on my head wtf else would i do with it LOL! |
