i dont really have that much of a review because i found the night pretty uneventful. the night in a whole felt like it was warming up for something good. but once 6 came around i came to the realization that the night was just a big warmup set.
- shaw's opening set was excellent. one of the better sets of the night for sure.
- it seemed like alot of people were there, but then again it seemed like no one was there. alot of people were out that i haven't seen in a long time, but the docks still had an empty feeling.
- the sound in the main room was horrible. the sound restrictions with the islanders really affected this party in a big way. with out the bass the music lost alot of its energy and resulted in a very boring atmosphere. it was still alot of fun but the music was secondary.
- thanks to all the familiar faces that made the night decent. happy hollidays. |

So ing sad that its bc of the restrictions caused by the fuss the islanders made that made this party lack the way it did!
For shame! |

So I had a great time! The minute I walked in I saw and was seen by familiar faces that greeted me with open arms and hand shakes. I couldn't stop chit chatting with people all over the place. The Vibe was amazing and soooo friendly...The music was great tooo. I tried to listen to EM but I kept going into the back and getting sucked in to the sick beats that where going on.
ps...Whats the big deal with puff daddy? Did he DJ or something like that, or did he just stnad there beside EM? |

Erick and P are good friends and generally travel together when their schedules allow. |

oic...I still don't know what the big deal was. Did he do something special? Did he do some sort of trick on stage? |

I had a good time. Although I didn't really like Morillo's set at the beginning of the night at all, the latter half of his set I enjoyed. I could see how he could be a lot better. I'd definately see him again.
I think the reason why I enjoyed it and other people didn't is I had such low expectations of the music, while other people's expectations were pretty high.
All in all, I had a very good night with my friends. |

Since I was not at this party I'm guessing this had to be the number one reason that affected the whole vibe of this gig. The last few events I attended at the Docks the sound was just bloody AWFUL and that steered me away from this event. It's just not what it used to be. Good luck Tiesto next week since you won't have the sound and bass you had in May 2006.;)
Anyway, I've been on TA long enough to state that honestly this is the most negative review I've ever read for a huge event overall. So call my bluff, link me a more negative review thread than this one! :p |
