Don't know about 'civilised' as they effectively lost their jobs, income and immense amounts of property, you could take what you could carry, clothes on your back and basically dumped out in the middle of nowhere in a tarpaper and wooden hut. Even Regan admitted that it was based on hysteria and racial prejudice as a government apology, they didnt bother locking up the ethnic Germans or Italians at the time either and something like 2/3rds of the Japanese where either naturalised or born in the USA.
Even if you get stuck in one for 2-3years, thats a lot of living that could be done and if youre going in as an educated, skilled person its humiliating to have to go pick fruit for a living or chip weeds.
The nasty thing is that these changes sneak in under the moral radar of people over time, they nibble off a bit here, bit there and after a few years the population just doesnt realise how bad it is until the hammer comes down.
And you wake up, neck deep in crap. |

You walk up to someone on the street and ask them what their first impression is when you say concentration or internment camp and they think people being executed or worked to death. That's why I said civilized although it is it stretch considering what they had to give up.
I just got done reading a really interesing book that was a collection of interviews of people that had lived in the camps. Many of them seemed almost apoligetic about the whole incident and that it happend like it did as if they felt they were somehow at fault. Only one out of about 50 said they were still upset about it to this day. Everyone else said they just went back to their lives(the vast majority were farmers) and rebuilt everyhting or moved into the legal or political fields to make sure it did happen again.
My whole point for talking about it though was that while this did indeed happen it can not be used as a basis for an argument that it would without question happen again, and that even when it did happen it was nothing like what happend in Europe. |

you know, before 911, I would of laughed and called your post "crackpot", but now, it is so true. especially when one works for the "man", see things; hear things..... makes a mesican want to move to Canada and live next door to Cyrus. ;)

thanks, I am a little jittery at the moment, have not had a cig in the past few weeks, actually smoked my last one the weekend of that show we met up at. These patches are making me really stupid.
I finished up all my work tonight in record time!! lol so i am going to listen to this show. |

You confuse his anger towards the government (US & Israel) for hatred towards the people (which is easy to do considering how he expresses it at times, but only in response to false accusations and misrepresentation of his views). I'm pretty sure if you guys met in real life you'd get along pretty well. ;) |

If you have heard of "land reform" in some places which the western world doesnt have an interest in (no oil) you'd have a fair idea that I'm not a 'crackpot' about governments implementing things for the betterment of the state's security and welfare for the majority of the population.
One day its, just a few musings on the radio about giving back privately owned land too war veterans.
Next month you hear rumours about letters giving you notice they own your house now with an official notice.
Month after that, they give you one.
Month after that, they turn up to turf you out.
