| any idea what the sound quality is like in comparison to normal speakers, that seems theonly real threat |

i don't see how they would sound that much different, although i could see potential RF problems, buzzing etc. it depends on the quality i guess, and where you live. they would suck ass if you live under some powerlines etc. i never buy speakers without hearing them first.
what's the huge gain that you would get with wireless over wired? just no hassle of wiring them up? |

pretty much, i have awkward ceilins and room dimensions and it just means changing the placement over time would be easier plus the amount of wires i have kicking about from other things is allready pretty built up.
interference shouldnt be too big a problem i guess but i suppose thats one thing yo cant tell even if you get an in-store test or whatever. |

| how are the satellites powered? using batteries or what? hat would be a pain in the ass to have to replace those all the time |

| well most are mains powered to a dock which you charge each individual on, and the dock also sends out the signals, others are battery powered, but thats not an option for anyone sensible as i think youd agree. i have heard you can get interference from mobile phone signals :conf: that would suck |

For the same price, you'll get lower quality with wireless. It won't be profoundly worse, unless you're getting interference, but it will be noticeable. |

what models are you looking at?
if wires are really a concern get some flatwire ( google it ) but that stuff is NOT cheap |

i was generally looking i havent focused on anything inparticular so far. its not for excellent sound quality or whatever ive got speakers for my set up etc etc i just want these for the bedroom to connect from a laptop. i dont wanna spend too much just for amazing wireless sound when i could just get cable speakers and do my best to sort out all the cables.
Laptop speakers as usual such so i just wanted a fairly decent pair of speakers to accompany it.
i dont know however im sure there'll be different brands/prices in Scotland instead of the US |

well first of all I'm not in the US :p
you got any website links to brands of stuff you looked at that is available in your area?
One thing with wireless speakers is they tend to have horrible autonomy which is why there are so few of them on the market. It's amazing that they are not more common. |
