Noodles over Noodles!

I just thought I would share...

I don't know how many of you actually read the "nutrition" value in foods, but I discovered something when I lived in Korea. It's the Sodium content in those damn ramin noodles! All soups have so much sodium in it, but especially these ramin noodles, it's probably for the best to make your own soup. 700-3000 calories in each serving!!!

I know that a lot of you are students and are on a budget with your food, but I just wanted to warn peeps:) I realize that the healthy choice is sometimes not as quick, or inexpensive, but believe me your heart & health will thank you in the long run if you stay away from the unhealthy foods!

Just look at the sodium content in these soups. I know we need salt in out bodies, but not 3000 mg of it all at once! no wonder you feel like gulping a litre of water after any noodle meal!

Yeah, I saw a consumer show on these once. Ramen noodles are FRIED. There are plenty of other non-ramen types of instant noodles available that are not fried. Usually when an oil is listed as the second ingredient after the grain, you know it's fried. I also frequently NOT pour in the flavoured oil packet that comes with many asian noodles. Lots of calories saved right there.

the salt in processed foods like noodles, soups, etc. is awful.

most of those noodles, and other crap like Kraft Dinner, is devoid of much nutrition in the first place too. Hopefully most people treat these as rare, quick things to eat and not as regular meals.

it's not all about fat, calories, ec...think about NUTRIENTS too ;)

Exactly, and many brands say right on their packaging that the way to reduce your sodium is to use less seasoning.

I would suggest using fresh mushrooms, onions and other vegatables instead of the seasoning.

Genuine Polish pickles FTW

Less salt, sweeter, and LOTS MORE DILL. North American pickles taste like Messengil.
