Interesting enough i like how Halo's Universe is partly based on the Bible. Think about that for a second.

:stongue:

Maybe for you folks who are into the "expanded universe," but you'd be hard pressed to find a majority of gamers anywhere who feel it's story is good by comparison to even mediocre games.

The story is good... but not THAT good.

The writing styles are really interesting, though. :)

What's Halo?

Oh here we go....

"thinks about it for 10 mins"

I DON'T GET IT, why because I haven't bothered to play halo since I was on my counterstrike binge. I played it here and there, but felt leaving the group of 4 dudes to play on my own full screen game with a mouse and keyboard =)

Maybe I should go into the foreshadowing of counterstrike in the advent of 9/11 and how the terrorist are portrayed as bad people in the real world yet have all the dominant weapons and vantage points in the game. You know to go along with your biblical reference and mind-washing theorems...it's a damned video game you freak!

and yet again - ANOTHER REFERENCE - to the if you don't agree with the mass appeal you're considered to not know anything and are full of . im sure you seen this witty motto before - you laugh at me because im different, i laugh at you because you're all the same --think about that for 7.89seconds

..... good job

the whole PC vs console thing wont die, but as far as i know, Goldeneye was the first game to involve a detailed single player and combat-hit-physics/goal system on a console with a reasonably complex multiplayer gaming before games like half-life hit pcs. (tho just barely) and the comparison isnt totally proper.

as far as quality gaming for single and multi, goldeneye and perfect dark beat the out of halos.

halo single is boring as piss and generic (textures, level design, creatures, et al) multi is slow and is only good for entertaining your slow friends whilst everyone is ed up. not to mention hackers, cheaters the rest online.

farcry on the xbox was much closer to a richer, all around gaming experience(goldeneye) than halo. MS and fanboys just desperately want to be different|

you kill me bro (an anagram for rob, whoa)

one reason why halo is so great is because the multiplayer system is well set-up. it's easy to jump into a game. plus, with the ranking system, many players can dick-size their halo playing ability. it also has new map downloads, gametypes, and other updates (which is common with pc titles, but not as common with consoles if i'm not mistaken).

it's also cool to see all of the stats of a good multiplayer match. hit accuracy, bullets fired, kills, deaths, suicides.. and with the badges it makes it even more interesting. people get a warm feeling after having three consecutive triple kills. i dunno why.

furthermore, the weapons are fairly well balanced. each weapon has it's own advantage and disadvantage, and because of that, it adds a lot of strategy depending on the map, gametype, teams, etc. and there's also little tricks such as crouching while jumping to jump slightly higher that makes the game a little more interesting.

finally the reason why i like halo the most is because of how "precise" and slow-moving (in a good way) it is. i like having to actually aim, unlike other fps' like unreal tournament where it's so fast paced you just kinda point in the general direction and hold the fire button. that's just personal preference though.

story and single player mode? meh. the most fun is the multiplayer. split-screen co-op is a ton of fun though.

im sorry, but that statement is just silly ;)

as for goldeneye, i never said it wasnt a good game. just that its not credible to call it the best FPS EVER. theres a whole lot of stiff competition. its a big ing call ;)

in the same way that unreal freaks say "halo is too slow" i must think that unreal is too fast. just personal preference i think.

goldeneye is a classic, and imo a very influential fps for its time. a lot of people i know have *heard* of doom at least, but EVERYONE has *played* goldeneye. most people i knew didn't get computers until after the whole doom thing. meh.

i never argued that goldeneye was the best.
just that many dynamics in gameplay and game design in GE are now standard everywhere else

You're kidding right....regarding the terrorists in cs, I assume that's what you said the above in reference to. All the dominant weapons??? Have you actually played this game?
