I never really liked Sasha up until recently. THis year, I have listened to many of his sets, and I am just blown away by some of the tracks he plays. They are so original and sound so amazing.

Global DJ Broadcast w/ Markus Schulz & Sasha (12-07-06)

These two tracks were just amazing:

John Acquaviva pres. Swen Weber - First Stroke
John Acquaviva pres. Swen Weber - First Stroke (Scratch Massive Mix)

ANother thing that really impresses me is how he mixes his tracks. If you listen to the beginning of the set, then fastword to the middle, then the end, it all sounds like the same track. I have only heard a couple djs do that. Pretty amazing, and the mixing is the best I have ever heard and flawless.

What are the best known Sasha sets (1997-2006) that can be downloaded?

Yep, listening right now and every little sound he throws in whether it be a sample or whatever he does with abletron, is harmonicly placed in key, very nice on the ears.

However i couldn't stand to hear more than an hour of "one long song" type sets, call me boring but i like frequent changes in energy, whether it be progressive, house, or trance.

I think this year was Sasha's worst.

1989-2001 > Sasha setting trends.
2002-2006 > Sasha following them.

Anything before 2001 basically. I am particularly fond of the Gatecrasher NYE set, 31-12-99 - for sentimental reasons. Get that first, follwed by Zen After Party (Miami, United States) June 1996.

Probably for the best, really.

which trend was he following when he started using Ableton? For those who don't know, he used Ableton for his Involver project (among other tools) so if anything he set a new trend for people to use Ableton to DJ and have fun with music, which is what he's doing now.

Stop living in the past ffs.

btw, get his 30 min set from the yacht party.. too much fun.
