I've been doing kung fu and picked up on freeform/extreme since ive been about 10, so about 8 years now and recently started doing tae kwon do.
Anyone else here do any arts?
By the way for those who know, here is an amazing freeform/extreme martial artists (pretty amazing and very fast, ignore the terrible music :p):

I'm quite adept at a Scottish matial art. It's called Far-Que. It's basically just headbutting people and then kicking them on the ground.

i'm a few months shy of a year into taekwondo. currently a green belt. also had some friends teach me some grappling, very little though, mostly judo or jujutsu techniques. i also get a little hapkido as part of my TKD curriculum, but it's mostly simple joint-locks.
i'm testing next week actually. my biggest challenge so far is getting my jump spinning back kick right. i can pull it off if necessary, but it's not at testing level yet. according to my master, he'll have me doing it perfectly by friday. i wanna film the sparring, but the only cam i have available only has firewire port, and i don't have a firewire card to transfer to my pc. :(
my contribution, one hell of an inspiring black belt:
(frozen frame at 00:23 is the kick i'm struggling to learn :toothless)

I have a 1st Dan black belt in TaeKwonDo, but rank does not mean a whole lot. I did it for about 5 years - I sort of used to live and breathe it, you could say.
Martial arts do not necessarily make you a good fighter - well, most current systems do not - but if you enter into most schools or curriculum looking to "learn how to fight" then you are entering for the wrong reasons. They teach great things like focus and discipline and, if you devote yourself to the martial arts, I think many aspects of your life will be greatly enhanced by this. Not everyone was made to fight, not everyone was really made for the martial arts, but I think that it is a great decision and pursuit for most people and will give them focus and perspective in their lives.
I haven't practiced or trained in over a year, so some of the physical ability is lost, but I know one day I will take it up again - you never forget the important stuff.
