Y2K was obviously bull, we get to the end of 1,000 year periods well...every 1,000 years, not that unique. Plus it's pertenant to when the first century "began" which wasn't correlated with any astronomical phenonmenon.
The whole 2012 thing with the galaxies lining up happens once every 26,000 years.
Nothing will happen though but it's still a lot more interesting theory than the whole Y2K thing. |

The Maya also believed that the world is cyclical, being born and dying only to be reborn. 2012 is when the current period of the world will "end." It doesn't seem likely but you would be lying if you aren't just a bit nervous when that day comes. |

I agree. Maybe if they had started the beginning of the movie from the part where it ended it may have been more interesting.
It was a catch me if you can movie that could have been shown in any setting because it bore absolutely no reference to the mayan culture whatsoever. And how misleading was the movie poster since they don't even show the grey mayan temples. |
