Let me begin by saying that words really cannot begin to describe Saturday night, but here's a few:
Arrived at Spundae around 9:30 p.m. in relentless, pouring rain, docked the boat (er, I mean car) and ran for the entrance! Mike Khoury's set was going off in the main room and I liked what I heard...a little more house kinda feel than the rest of the night, but some good quality tracks!
Kristina followed with another superb set, including Luminary's "Wasting" and a load of other tracks that I don't remember.
Deep into Kristina's set, I look up and see Jono looking out over the totally packed dance floor...he looks pleased. Jono and Tony join Kristina behind the decks and the place goes completely mad!
Above & Beyond's set included a host of Anjunabeat anthems, I remember hearing "Alone Tonight," "Nowhere on Earth," "Air for Life," "Can't Sleep," and of course "Good for Me!" Also Oceanlab's "Satellite" went perfectly with the mood, rainy & cold outside, warm & fuzzy inside!
Amazing how fast 3 hours can go, Jono & Tony were so into it, could have easily gone on until sunrise! Above & Beyond have produced some of the finest tracks ever made, and it's always a pleasure to hear them mix such inspiring creations. AJ followed with a much more progressive set, a good contrast and nice way to end the night! Anyway, these words are shallow and pale in comparison to the experience, so I'll end it here...go see Above & Beyond for yourself whenever possible! :D
Daamn, I hope I'll have a chance to see em eventually :(

Couldn't agree more with the first reviewer of this thread. A&B played the best set I have heard so far in a live performance. I was starting to wonder if the superstar European DJs would ever play a decent set in the U.S. They played great tracks and had great continuity throughout their set. Given the chance I will definitley see them again.

Saturday was a fun night at Spundae even tho I'm not that into fluffy trance anymore. I have no idea who played at the loft around 10:30-11:30 but it sounded pretty decent. I felt sorry for the djs in the back room because the room was empty every time I passed by :sadgreen:
A&B got on the decks and the energy exploded. It was cool to see the whole crowd go nuts during every song A&B played and many of the old songs made me feel very nostalgic :D The highlights for me tho were Jody Wisternoff - Nostalgia and Arctic Monkeys vs Sander van Doorn - Sun Goes Down. I was actually very suprised A&B would play the latter song! The 3-hour set felt like just one so I guess I was having a lot of fun :tongue2
It didn't sound very logical that AJ would play after A&B instead of before them but he did a great job keeping the energy going! I really enjoyed his set and left Spundae with a big smile on my face :)
A+B is amazing live. I wish they had stopped by SF this past weekend...

Hey Riia, you snuck in another pic with me, Tony & Jono...I didn't even notice then, how nice! :) hmmm...wonder if the SVD track was the really hard sounding one that I didn't like...lol? Anyway, if we all liked exactly the same music, then the world would be a very boring place! Thanks for the great vid, pics and for keeping Tony & Jono in line on Saturday night! ;)
