Trance producer girl from Spain

Hi everybody

First of all I want to say hello cos I'm a new user in this forum. I'm a dance/trance music lover and, since 1999 I'm producing my own tracks. :)

I've just finished a new remix (I made several) of a track made by the Spanish trance
producer PoPsMastertrance. He dedicated this song (its tittle is For
You
) to his father and I couldn't reject the posibility to make a remix
of.

I think the original mix is superb. You can listen to PoPsMastertrance
music here It will be worth!

About my version, it's available at myspace
and soundclick

I'll be wishing to see your comments; they are really important for me
cos I want to improve my tracks, of course.

By heart, thanks a lot for your listening and all the best to
PoPsMastertrance's father.

Hey, nice sound there,

kick's a little weak?
like the breakbeat part
pretty emotional sound, liking the lead.

sorry i can't really offer much constructive crits, keep it up though!
cheers, Alex

Thanks a lot, Alex! Yes, getting a punchy kick is a nightmare for me; well, eq and compressing are the worst part of the work for me. :nervous:
Don't worry, your critic is really wellcome.

Many thanks for giving me your opinion. :D

Kind regards!;)

Hey, no worries!

Yeah, until pretty recently I had trouble with kicks, one thing I realised (and I have a feeling you may have the same problem, listening to your other tracks) is that my kicks are always too quiet. Plain and simple, i was just afraid to make them too loud, but then i compared it with other tracks and i was wrong :P I'm not sure how compression works yet (I just play around until it sounds right, i'm getting used to it but i'm by no means a sound engineer :P), but I usually EQ my kicks by killing the very top end frequencies and lowering the mid-low frequencies, so that my kicks have a good sub, and also a nice sounding "thud" to them :P

hope that helps, good luck with it!
cheers, Alex

So you do the same as me but I think my low frequencies in kicks are too soft; maybe I'm afraid of breaking the speakers, hehehe.:D
Hey, Alex, have you got any track to listen to. I have made a search in this forum but the one I found isn't available. :(

Many thanks again! ;)

djsphere, are you a girl too? Maybe we can make a collaboration. It would be fantastic!

Yeah, i just checked that, must sort that out. I uploaded a new one today, it's in my signature (Alex Chilcott - Hemera)

Something I meant to say in my first reply is that you might also want to have a look to find some new kick samples that are a little punchier.

hey hey.... ;) i like your stuff!.. very flowing... don't worry about the kick in here ;) i prefer a soft kick, if it flows well with the rest of the song ;) and this one doesn't dissapoint but... yeah, i was on a psy forum and found these: link

theres over 300 kick samples ;)
enjoy...

Yes, this is the main problem of my mixtures (they are too ducking):(. When I started producing I thougt it was because of my sound card or the sequencer I use but now I realize the problem is just mine.

canadian didjer, thanks a lot for the link! Those kicks will be very usefull for me. ;)

Once again, thanks a lot for all your comments. You're really kind!;)

if you're running a compressor over the whole mix, try increasing the threshold so it's not compressing so hard.....you will need to adjust the the output accordingly as well. maybe adjust the bass level too since the ducking seems to be coming from the overpowering of the kick and bass, and/or try doing a lo-cut with an eq just on the bass....
