I'm looking to get my monitors of the desk (Mackie HR624), but I know nothing about stands at all...anyone used any and can recommend a pair?
Preferably something adjustable and sturdy, and not costing too much.
Links would be great too...!

Calm down sweetheart, I was only messing with him. However I did ask to be recommended a set of speaker stands....

Next time some ****** comes on asking for advice on a laptop to buy, you don't say, "Take yourself down to PC World, they have all different types of laptops at different prices."

HAHAHA you're a funny guy..

What's the diefferance between a monitor stand and a speaker stand?

And it depends what you need, height? speaker size, weight?. You need adjustables? fixed height? cable guides or not? Wanna spend $50 or $500... Your choice? Wood, metal? or something alse? Wall mounted, extractable, lol it's just speaker stands. most work fine...... Adjustable legs to compensate any uneaven ground.. There are a lot of choices.. Did i forget to say they come in deiefferent colours :)

You see I don't know how these things work, whether or not stands will affect the sound etc...thats why I posted here! Only to be told to off down to my local hifi store :D ;)

But they sell them at your local hi fi, or a music store, so it's not like i am telling you BS... And if you want links.. Try online music stores.. I personally like... argosy furniture..

*chuckles*

I love British Humour. North Americans just don't us sometimes.

I'm in exactly the same position as you pal - have a look at

There's a few on there which look pretty decent. I haven't bought any yet though. I always wonder, is it really worth it? Will it allow my monitors to perform better? I'm not really sure to be honest.
RickyM
Thanks man, I was looking at quick lok ones. And as for needing them, I think monitors are supposed to be ear height, so unless I slouch like Quasi to hear them on my desk, I'm probably not getting the most out of them ;)
