Vote for Danjo & Styles' Playground Top 20 of the year 2006! (pg. 2)
View this Thread in Original format

People actually voted for those tunes? You didn't just randomly pick 20 tunes from the TOTY voting list from ASOT?

Huh. What a world.
Danjo
Sorry to read replies from the 'non-trance-lovers' (as it seems). The list is based 100% on what the Playground listeners voted for. Because we are in the same genre of music as Armin (we are also contracted to his label, as you might know), it's not that strange that various tracks from the PG list, were also played in ASOT or by other trance DJ's.

A little respect for everyone's musical preference would be nice. :)

Hail to James Brown! ;)

I respect everyone's musical preferences, if you guys are content spinning this kind of rubbish and patting yourselves on the back for it, good for you.

I just think it's much neater when DJ's actually search for records rather than playing what's handed to them by ASOT tracklists, Armin, and Tiesto.

can anyone answer the question why those who give negative critique of the todays trance are seen as non-trance-lovers?

Because they don't realise that there's other kinds of trance out there

It's not about a direct comparison of the two lists - the fact of the matter is, it's all standard cookie cutter trance.

Here's a project for you: Why don't you go troll through this years ASOT playlists and tell me how many of the tunes on Danjo and Styles list made appearances in Armin sets this year?

I'd love to see what you come up with.

Isn't this inevitable? I mean, there aren't infinite amounts of music out there, especially when it comes to melodic trance.

that's why my poorly mixed but tune-filled trance mix has done so well in the dj promotion :p It's trance but not as most people know it :D

RJT
Edit: I misread the original post. Fact is that there IS an infinite amount of music out there right now...

Which is exactly why like this shouldn't happen - When so many trance jocks literally sound EXACTLY the same (I couldn't discern a Danjo and Styles set from an Armin, Tiesto, PVD, Tyas, etc. set), what's the point?

Then how come other (better) DJs manage to find them?
