when the "affiliation" was mentioned, I understood that as being a part of the event (a promoter, someone involved in the event himself, part of the planning/promotions/booking/whatever team)...
as far as this goes, a friend promoting the event and involved in the whole thing is even lazier than me... and this is what I get for going out of my way and making you people aware of the fine DJs being brought to a fine establishment like Fluid?

I just want to say that I am a fan of reading the drama that goes on in threads, and it seems as though this promoter/ta poster/friend paradox is almost as good of a pointless reason to cause drama as chinamon's picture threads.

So true... so you wanted informed us of DJs coming... so we'd know they are in town and where they are playing so those who would be interested could go...
and for this it ends up being only a hassle to you with some drama (and all you wanted to do was inform us).
yeah, i agree, pretty ing lame. i wouldn't wanna go outta my way in the future either.

but anyway, crazy serb, you claim to have no affiliation with this event yet you have a guestlist set up in the event thread. you are collecting names for guestlist for an event that your friend is hosting. i dunno aobut you but i would definitely call that an affiliation.
personally i dont care if you are affiliated with this event or not. i loved the L.E.S. both times that ive seen them play at boa-redux. i was just relaying the wise words of jeff button when i posted a roll call for an event that i was affiliated with because i work as a photographer, not as as a promoter or anything along those lines.
i wasnt given the name 'el disturbo' for nothing. ;) |

the email set up in there is being forwarded directly to him...
do you think I'd even bother collecting names for this too and then organizing them and passing them onto him myself, just as a favor?

now you kinda know how i feel. i take pics and post them here but have a slew of people talk about me and my work. does tranceaddict pay me for it? no. i do it because i enjoy doing it and it gives people something to talk about. many people have approached me in person and said they love my photo threads because it gives them something to read to get them through the day. sure, jeff button and a few others do say some pretty harsh things but i just gotta laugh it off and keep doing what im doing. |
