The understandable NEC rollcall thread? :p (pg. 8)

before reading this please note im not wanting to offend u, sound nasty or whatever.. bleh :)

why is it our fault that you havent sorted your travel out..? if u want me to book a ticket then tell me and i would be happy to do it.. u havent asked me to so i havent. you havent asked spad/fray this either. the situation with your flight home is not right. am i right in thinking your flight back is 10pm from london yeah..? the last train is NOT 1pm... there are loads of trains that go thru birmingham to london... and from sheffield DIRECT to london (as its main line)... the ticket people on the train rarely can be arsed to look at the times ur sposed to be goin on... all they usually look at is your destination and if thats ok then its ok. even then.. it isnt that hard to book a ticket from birmingham up to sheffield and back for an extra £10. you said yourself that u wanted to see the republic club and stuff like that... i thought it was pretty obvious from nearly the start that a lot of ppl would be coming back up north for the afterparty.. as the arrangements were the after-party would either be at mine, and spad/jason's if they move in b4.. or at jamies friend who lives in sheffield anyway!

spad and jason are very very busy at the moment.. they are shifting their lives 300+ miles.. so they are very busy lil bees lookin for houses and are stressed enough as it is, so please dont take e out on them that isnt really their fault..

the best idea is what us lot discussed last night... screw the london - birmingham return, and just get a return up to sheffield.. that way you can come straight up to birmingham.. meet us at the pub, stomp, then get straight back on the train in the morning up to sheffield... then do the afterparty, then get back on a train and get back to london in time for your flight. just so long as its a virgin train that you get on then they wont be bothered... and if they are i will argue them to death.

i dont want to sound nasty and i hope im not, coz u know i like u :p;) i dont understand why ur gettin so worked up at us about this... and if you cant get a train then book a coach.. spad has already posted lots of info about coaches for loginz.. you will find that in the old NEC thread that i closed :)

another option is to get an open return which means you can go back when the hell you want, but it will be a bit more expensive.. but if ur doing that you may aswell all chip in and hire a car.. if a car is what 70 pounds for a weekend... theres 4 of you.. the train would be 20 quid each (if u were to get returns from london to sheffield via bham) so it would be 10 poundas cheaper to hire the car. with the car you have the freedom of the country...

*** just looked at train prices/times.. if you wanted to go from london to birmingham, then up to sheffield you can get a train BACK at 1 pm (as you said) and pay 18 return... or £43 to go back on a much later train and get back to london for your flight... or u could just scam it, pay for the 18 pound ticket and go back when u feel like it. it would work. but still the car hire would b cheaper.

jeffs conclusion:

hire a car. :)

hope im not going against anyones will here, but...... im sure all/some of us will gladly help you out with money. I would be happy to help you out moneywise however i can. Just think of how many of us there is, if we all put a small amount of money together, it will equal a fairly decent amount of money to you guys. Remember, you guys are coming from another country not only to go to the NEC, but to meet us (well, maybe not me!), so that makes you OUR guests.

Sorry i cant help you out with any info on trains etc.... but im useless at all this stuff;)

hehehe you mad caNa :p

it's not really a money issue, but more a "whose creditcard are we gonna borrow now" issue :D

but my sis left us a message that we can use her card...and since it's almost 9 pm here (dunno what your time is really) I think it's fair to say that us 4 are gonna go to Brum..hang out with you guys (the ones that'r staying in Brum for a while) and catch the 11.45 train back! (yea, the 13.00 train wasn't available anymore)

You know what the sad thing is? I bought these gorgeous furry boots for 19 quid and had them sent to Jason's.....I wonder how i'm gonna receive those!!!
Which makes me think of the fact that we STILL need an address in the uk for those tickets :( But you lot live too far away from London!!!

dj_mdma....are you training with us??? I could fill in ur address :)
but the clock is tickin' (sigh) :S

Wooh!!! :)

We are in for definates :)

As you can see we're planning a small dinner at that pub-thingie, where we can collect certain items from certain people named Jeff and Jason :p then chit-chat, collect our tickets and have a nice morning out by the NEC lake afterwards :)

Andrew: what time were you taking the train? We NEED to meet ok :)

2 All the rest: I hope my temper will be a lil' colder now that I finally have a YES for the whole trip :)

Some trip:

Train to Utrecht (yes, TE City :)), then coach to Calais, the train or ferry to Dover, then coach to London Victoria, then train to Birmingham!! :D But hey....Fray...at least we don't have to cycle all the way to the NEC :stongue: :stongue: imagine that :D
