Well, black on black crime isn't a "Race" issue.
But I'm pissed at Al Sharpton because he uses these people, and these situations just to get his name out. |

Neither was the shooting. 3 of the officers were Puerto Rican and 2 were black, the rest were white.

My problem is that Sharpton and the gang are making this to be race issue, when it clearly was not. |

Seems like to me that the guys in the car panicked when the plain cloths officers aproached their car. Not knowing they were cops the black men floored their car to get away thinking they were about to be beat up. The cops in turn fired shots to protect themselves thinking the guys in the car were trying to attack them. Both sides felt their lives were in danger.
Seems like a big mistake on everyone's part that ended the life of an innocent man. |

When the crime committed is proven to be on the pretext of the victim's skin color... here it seems they make every white man kills man of other color crime to be a race issue without any proof whatsoever.
I thought by now they would be smart enough to treat all crimes equally, regardless of whether or not the victims were of a different color. |

the cops ed up big time by failing to follow a load of procedures, the most critical being that the undercovers should have never approached the car to begin with. they should have radio'd the uniformed cops who were standing by near the scene to avoid this sort of confusion. because they suspected they were making a highly prized gun collar, however, they decided to move in, lest someone else take the credit for the arrest.
procedure was ted on in numerous other ways as well, from the way shots were fired, to the communication between undercovers and their lieutenant, to the way the sting was conducted inside.
and while the cops doing the shooting were a mixed-race bunch, the fact that yet another unarmed black guy was bucked down in a hail of bullets makes it very much a racial issue.
the larger, and stupider issue, is why expend all this manpower and money -- and ultimately create a ty situation where people die -- all to make prostitution busts at a strip club in the first place...
bloomberg's coolheaded response prevented racial violence from exploding that first weekend, but if these cops don't at the very least lose their badges, there might be some minor in the streets -- nyc is overdue for a riot. last one was in washington heights in '93 after kiko garcia was gunned down. |
