But I believe the effect of it is incredibly exaggerated and a natural warming phenomenon/cycle of the Earth is the primary reason for these warming temps on average.

Im sure polluting effects the earth, but not on the scale many want or seem to believe. Polluting is bad regardless and cutting down is a good thing and should be aggressively pursued.

how is that possible? the temperature only started to rise in the last 50years or so after we started polluting the earth. We've done more damage in the last 100years than in the last 5billion years before that.

You may like global warming now, but did you like it 2 years ago in the summer time when it was too hot to go outside during the day and the evening for 90% of the summer?

I liked the exact OPPOSITE of what you're stating there!

I HATE the lack of snow right nwo, and I LOVED the massive heat 2 years ago! I wish we'd get weather like that again! I ing loved that summer beyond words. It was perfect for me!

(and I was living on the 3rd floor of an house with NO A/C!! I didnt even have a portable window A/C unit in my room like my 3 other roomies did either!!)

too hot to go out, well big deal, you get used to it the way you get used to freezing weather

high 40C's in summer is a usual thing in Mediterranean and it's pretty bearable

Definitely! 40+ is fine for me in the summer. Doesnt take me much to get used to it. And I would walk to and from work too in that heat!

I think you are missing the point here along with funky. It's not the heat, it's WHY the heat is coming. Everyone likes warm weather, but I would rather have a healthy planet and cooler weather than HEAT and smog everywhere. If you want heat, you shouldn't be living in Canada 3/4 of the year lol.

edit: I agree I miss the snow. We have lots out west here Jem! You are always more than welcome to come out here:D

Didn't you read my post?

Earth has been warming up ever since the last Ice Age. Guess what a warmer earth would do to the atmosphere

:( So upsetting... Im still secretly hopeing we here in Collingwood around Blue Mountain will get some good or reasonable snowfall before Xmas that will last through Xmas Eve and Xmas Day! ;)

Failing that, maybe ill fly out west and crash your snow party :p

EDIT: Posted by Ashley (forgot to sign outta Chirs's)

Everyone should watch Al Gore's movie. I know it's been said in like 5 different posts, but that movie will shock you.

GLOBAL WARMING IS A PHENOMENON, A VERY VERY SCARY ONE!

As Al Gore states in An Inconvient Truth, if we do not start changing the way we are polluting the earth, Greenland will completely melt over the next 50 years, and the whole ocean/seas will rise 20 feet. Tell me that's not scary, and that Global Warming is not a "big deal".

Getting back on topic...

:( :( :( :( :(

I'm very sad that there won't be snow for Christmas.

Its times like these I love global warming. :D
If global warming were to stop right now, the world would be the perfect temperature.

I don't mind that, as long as it doesn't get colder than polar bear's arsehole.

Being able to bike in late december is just so wrong
