I can't understand why there is a market for sound banks. I have heard your demo's and most of the sounds have been used. Take the Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia preset on FM7. Unless your making a remix, that sound can't really be used? This also goes for the Cygnus X - Superstring preset. I thought new artists were meant to be original? If this isn't the case, no wonder trance is in the state that it is in. One tune sounds the same from the next.

thats bs, i used the synaesthesia preset in my newest remix, but it was a part of a layer, and it was blended well with the other melody that was running.. Not one person has commented on me ripping the lead from that track, since I only used it to liven up the other one.
For people who aren't super pro in the whole synthesis field yet, soundbanks are a great way to get the workflow going faster instead of sitting there scratching your head wondering why the new awesome melody you just made sounds wank, since all u know how to make is a saw patch..
Sound banks are also a great way to learn and see how a specific sound is made up, in a kind of "hands on" experience. A book can't teach you how something sounds if you tweak this and that knob. |

I agree to that in so many ways. I use soundbanks but i tend to tweak them to give them my style. I'm really not a good sound programmer yet but by using soundbanks and understanding what knob does which is very helpful. I don't think i could sit down, write patches and then write a song. By then i think my creativity would've went out the window. |

yeah, its alot of help, especially if what youre used to is the Rock Sausage 2000, which only has one preset (made out of fish) and filters made out of leather....
Ser ut som om vi er i flertall med nordmenn her på denna tråden hehe |

I am totally against warezed software etc. However, I can't see that you can complain about your sounds being warezed, as you've generally copied the sound from the original artists - surely this infinges copyright?
This isn't a whinge, I wanted to highlight a couple of points.
Good sound banks though. |
sure u can use the sounds that have been used in major tracks! u simply tweak them to suit ur melody! |
