i almost lost it at work today

(i work at best buy), its 9 am (i work in DI [digital imaging] cameras, camcorders, mp3 players, etc), and im putting away cameras and with teddi, one of my co-workers.
she an i are talking about who knows what i dont remember, then this old couple walks by and the guy looks at me an says "what happened to your hair?" thinking he's joking cuz i've got a great sense of humor i reply, "well i was in hurricane katrina and ever since it hasn't gone down." and i go hahaha. the guy is glaring at me, hes in his 80s and is like, "why dont you comb it, it looks like garbage." so im like uhhh okay and he moves on. then about 3 minutes later he's standing in front of some cameras and i ask, "you have any questions i can answer for you sir?" then he replys, "yeah i have some questions, but i'm not asking someone who has an identity crisis." what the is that supposed to mean? what i'm some sort of fag cuz i have hair and can ACTUALLY do with it?
right when he said that i'm going OMG to myself and i want to ing kill this guy. end his miserable life.
to make things worse teddi my co-worker, shes asian. she asks him if he needs any help about 5 minutes later and he says, "nah, i killed a lot of you people overseas, you're worthless, and u dont know anything."
i felt so bad for teddi. we both kept our composure, but had i been a customer and i overheard what that ****** said, id have got in his face and ing make him apologize. i wanted to break his hip.
i can't believe im paying for that ******s social security. that when he was my age there was no such god damn thing as social security.
if i see him again im going to give him a piece of my mind. |

I encountered an old guy when I worked at a grocery store. He had just gotten a new credit card or something and started taking it out on me when it wouldn't go through. Then he started rambling about having CIA or Secret Service connections or something, and I managed to keep from laughing.

dude, the guy was being a total , there's people in this world that have nothing better to do than to insult or condescend on others because it makes them feel important...
to themselves.
Brush it off, props for keeping your composture though - it might've costed you the job..

| Also had a racist old man as a substitute teacher a few times that made a similar comment to an Asian guy in one of his classes, something about having killed a lot of his people or some . Ugh. |

| i work with alot of old people.... some who are much like that old guy...but some are pretty damn cool....but yea some can be bigger s than younger people... |

Old people are bitter and depressed this time of year, doesn't shock me at all that this happened.
kudos for not snapping, oh and kudos to her too. I have bitter people old racist people as clients..you just need to ignore them. |

edit // btw, I used to work at Target, and right around the 9/11 thing this customer made a comment about me being a terrorist or something. I shoved him into a shelf and told him if he makes another comment like that I'm going to firebomb his house. My manager just told me to take the rest of the day off :p |

I knew a guy who was Egyptian and got a whole bunch of flak at school when 9/11 happened.
Thing is, he was Coptic Orthodox, not even Muslim. But idiots go by appearances, so oh well. :rolleyes: |
