Vivid boy, cool it boy. Seriously, do you really care about Marco's music, or about being able to show off that "we" (i.e. Toronto) had him first??? Anybody who cares more about the latter should get a life! Who gives a damn if it's his debut as long as we get to hear the music when he finally comes. Now, we ARE all disappointed, but no need to make it personal.
Oh, and please don't start a flame war, I really don't go for that sort of thing and this is in no way a personal attack on you. |

| im not gonna flame...but u ever think abt putting toronto on the map for trance? ya we were given the chance... but we lost it...and i care more abt the music...but with the music comes the scene...i know all of us would hope that our toronto trance scene would one day become great |

Mmmmm. Ok, I understand. I don't agree, but I understand. I guess I'm not as hung up on making the trance scene "great" as some. I would rather have great vibe at a smaller party, than have humongous parties like in Europe. Wouldn't mind going to one of those just to see, but really, I can have a better night out dancing at a good small venue with one or two good DJs. Toronto already has many such opportunities, though of course there's always room for more.
Peace,

I Couldnt agree with you more Arctic Boy. I dont care where the top cities in the scene are, I dont care where I am partying, as long as I have my Trance to groove to. Whether or not Toronto gets top name DJs is irrelevant. Getting Marco V to spin here, or Oakie, or Tiesto, or AVB or any top name DJ will not legitimize TO as a Trance Capital. For TO to become a world leading trance city, two things must happen:
1) We need to have people go the the raves/parties en masse, and start supporting the rave promotors (ala Sonic State), because without the promotors there is no party, and without the party there is no scene
2) We need to start supporting our local talent, to bring them up into international attention. When TO, and Canadian DJs start headlining in Holland, England an other places, that will put TO on the 'trance map'. |

Ya i agree ! Everyone gets mad soo easily. I mean i understand that
everything thats happened has been frusterating, but you dont need to
act like your life is ruined now.
Anyways, Im hoping that if the party is postponed its AFTER exams !!!
Like in May would be perfect :) |
Ya, in May it would be most definitely perfect.:p I also am stressing with school now and want to get it all over with before I hit the parties. I could not attend this one anyways because I had training in Quebec, so it worked out!! And not to see Marco V, that is a shame!!
Ok , gotta jet back to homework! |

oh so tru ! itz juss too bad that lots of ppl always look abroad whenever tryin to find a good party. itz like TO ppl always feel the grass is greener on the other side. not sayin ur all this way, but i do feel a general perception of that ..
totally gotta support the local scene and talent and hav them represent! |

if we had local djs as strong as the international ones it would be a lot easier. Mark oliver isn't excalty someone I'd want to send over to gatecrasher to represent canada. Max graham on the other hand can wave the flag proud. Mark scaife isn't bad, and I don't mind OS/2 either. I like to hit events that those guys play, it seems that there isn't any really cool parties to go to anymore.
does anyone know if destiny is gonna do wemf 2002 this year? wemf 2000 really owned when i went there. |

just checked destiny's webpage. aug 2-4 for wemf 2002.
I really hope destiny pulls it off this year. I was really sorry about what happened to them last year. I guess it's comparable to what happened to SS with WG2002. Hopefully both of them can throw successful large parties again. I really like the vibe of larger parties rather then club nights. I find that the people who go to club nights for the most part are there to pick up, where as people who drive out to god knows where for a large party are there for the music. It's so much nicer to be surrounded by music fans then guys with their shirts off trying to get in fights and pick up chicks.

Arctic I agree with all your posts, your right its not about the scene its the Vibe, the mood. I am not from Toronto or even Canada but I have come to like Canada for the people and the vibe at the club scenes mostly the "rave" scene. And as for WEMF I had a blast at WEMF01 it was a hassel at first and a pain waiting in line so long but I had a good time and I hung out with a bunch of people who were there to have fun, I guess the reason I had a good time was becuase they to were there for the music, not for any other reason. Well I may have offened some with that statement but hey Oh well.

| You know what, I personally don't care if WG is in the next few weeks. I want my money back. I've been planning to go to that party for awhile. I've already planned out my parties for April and have booked off the appropriate time from work. I've already planned my parties for May. I'm not going to book more time off work for a party that was supposed to go on this weekend. What if they have the party the same time as another good party? I dunno, I'm just really disappointed about everything that's happened. I know Sonic State is trying their best and that's great and respectable but their timing sucks. Sorry, that's just my opinion. |
