Acid adds a rawness which they probably think kills the cloud soft vibe of their tunes.

I think this is completely right

Lordy lord. Each tune you mentioned is a personal fave of mine. And I never knew why.

But when you consider I have a lot of old skool history suddenly all becomes clear........

I've never thought anyone was so right on the money with something they'd said, internet or otherwise, ever in my life, as I do right now.

Have not forgot that gem Rebel ;)
But i was refering to basslines that have a quite squarish and sliding/gliding between the notes, typical 303 sound...

No way man! It's easy to emulate the sound, you just have to really know which chords to use and which settings to emulate!

Though I will agree 100%: no software emulation sounds AS squelchy or quite AS acid as the original

So basically you're saying "no but yes"?

Listen to some warp brothers tracks, they do a great job with their acid lines.

They had a track released on the blade sound track that had some of the sickest screaming acid riffs

No they didn't. They sampled the New Order remix on the Blade OST and made a god-awful hard house record out of it.

Indeed. Credit goes to The Pump Panel for that one.

yes!!

i ALWAYS throw in an acidline or several when making uplifting trance, i really can't get by without them :toothless

a few firestorm productions from this year have had awesome acids in them, too.. gives so much more edge to the sound. i'll post samples when i get back home tomorrow..

Its all about making trance sound "real" and you`re best off accomplishing that using real synthesizers like the 303.
