so you're saying pacha isn't in touching with doing things of that nature? are you not aware of local dj's playing alongside internationally touring dj's on a frequent basis?

anyway...i'm over this conversation. get over this perceived concept you have in your mind about marketing, etc. your main man tiesto has an unbelievable machine backing him and a lot of dollars spent on what you're dissing...this whole concept of mkting.
suffice to say, i'd take my man lucien foort over tiesto any day of the week.

as far as january 5th, thats good for them, its about time... i played in the basement a few months ago at a locals night, but that was with merritt and whitmore, no one really new and fresh....
besides, personally, i love deep house, i love any type of house and i love and respect all the staff and DJs at the Shelter downtown, not to mention i enjoyed the few Danny Krivit 718 sessions sets i have.... but the fact is the Martinez Brothers are a) getting booked only because theyre 15/18, its a gimmick, or b) getting booked only because theyre crew knows someone at Pacha very well....... if you really had respect or support for the deep house scene, you'd appreciate it if Pacha gave main floor to someone who REALLY paid their dues and has been around a lot.... why is Louie Corrales opening and closing for a 15/18 year old, why not give HIM main floor? this is my point... this party is not about deep house, its not about bringing numbers, and its not about bringing new talent to the scene, it shows that Pacha booking people had some sort of favor to pay these guys back, or something, and the night doesn't make sense...
it's like the whole "naked pornstar DJ" fad thing.... you can say "oh wow, this naked pornstar DJ that plays house is playing at this big super lounge that is used to playing hip hop!!!!!!" or you can look beyond it being a "triumph of electronic music" to what it really is, the club owners using a gimmick |

Yeah he is. I've seen his name on more flyers than I've seen DJ TRACE. And I've also heard a lot of good things about these kids from people who have seen them LIVE, not just checked out their MySpace page. So relax everyone. Its one night a Pacha. I'd rather see these kids than another JP Fistpump night. |

That's the best defense of these kids anyone has made. However, doesn't make it anyless of a novelty; Otherwise Pacha wouldn't be advertising the age. |
