Thanks for your forgiveness. Nice to know we have some level headed individuals here. I remember last year some knucklehead thought there was a huge conspiracy going on when I accidentally listed "Airwave vs. Andy Moor" as the artists for "Air For Life". He pointed out the error early in the first round of polling of last year and the correction to "Above & Beyond vs. Andy Moor" was made and the song advanced to the 2nd round, but I swear he wanted my head on a platter.
Hopefully, peeps don't get all wet over the "Anhtkythera" misspelling, but it wouldn't be shocking if someone did. :) |

Actually you have a very valid point there.
The Antikythera Mechanism is a very good track, like the rest of BTs album. But being this TranceAddict, it is obviously strange that such a experimental track is almost leading the tune of the year polls. Past TOTYs weren´t like this.
With the trance scene “decadence” there is a growing group of people moving to different styles of EDM. BTs album is a relief to those tired individuals and these polls proves it.
However TAM is not even the best tune in BTs album. Anyone who listen BTs album will find relieving the "uplifting" part of TAM after one hour of extremely experimental and almost boring sounds and thats why it is up there in the polls. But there are actually far better tracks in there.
Anyway, I hope people sticks to actual EDM tunes in these polls like earlier years.
And if you liked TAM then at least you should listen to actual musical geniuses in that field, like Rob Dougan, or even better Danny Elfman. Both minds put in misery BTs work. |

oh well i didnt know that this was just "track of the year" and meant it didnt have to be trance. its just not my thing at all i guess especially when i was expecting a usual BT track and then instead when hearing this i find an ochestra with these random electronic sounds (get about 4 minutes into it). it just left me wondering WDF??
and as if call me "stupid" for this comment about a track i ing hate. how is your comment about above and beyond not stupid? u dont make any valid points at all u (not all of u) just say they are even though they have had farr better productions this year than the likes of g & d, avb, tiesto, sean tyas, other average producers etc etc and u dont back it up at all but if i bag a song that u guys find to be "brilliant" u have the nerve to say im the dumb one...hypocracy at its finest.
and yes i knew it was an ochestra the first time tools and there are bits of electronic sound "random" bits in it about half way through the track so off with the hearing problem calls :stongue: |

Not BT, but TAM. The Antikythera Mechanism is clearly an orchestral movie-like attempt of a track.
And for the record, BT has actually produced several scores for Hollywood. |

Your comments are indicative of the strange, xenophobic "trance-only" mentality that pops up around here. Anything that does not satisfy your own narrow expectations gets branded "." Stupidly enough, this is the same mentality that makes many fans of "mainstream" music dismiss all electronic music at the drop of a hat.
Take a walk outside your tiny little 10 x 10 cell. There's a whole world of music out there. |
