New Year's 2007 Mix

Well it's the end of the year and I'm am glad to share this new mix with you just before 2007 kicks off. It's a feel good mix meant to characterize the spirit of the New Year’s celebration. I start off with a mix of Retrobytes remarkable Alkaline track by Mark0. The melody and the bass in the original is superb and this particular mix was a perfect way to foreshadow the mix; groovy, but still emotional. The mix continues on with a contrast of very housey and energetic tracks with drifting and star-crossed melodic progressive trance. My objective was a fun and party friendly mix with tracks that pull the boundaries of trance and house together. It does end up with much more climactic trance, which I find to be the most affective for a fulfilling progressive experience. This is probably my last mix for a while as I am considering letting my web host subscription expire. I recently was fired from my daytime job for an incredibly stupid reason and my subscription cycle is nearing its end, so it might be a good time to let it. I have 45 days left so get it while you can. It's been very fun and I look forward to a future opportunity to share a new mix with you all. I am very fortunate to have received so many wonderful comments and compliments for my mixes over these 2 years and give you all great and heartfelt thanks. Please enjoy.

Oh and the name was actually recommended to me by one of my best friends over a year ago. I somewhat scoffed at it and moved on. It is a term used to describe when one galaxy engulfs another due to gravitational forces. I spontaneously remembered the suggestion and thought it was perfect. Thanks James. |

That's a pity you have been fired, I'm sorry for that. If the host you're using is at work, they must have noticed the bandwitdh usage your mixes are generating ;) j/k mate. I believe you will arrange other host for sharing, because I can't imagine the world going without your mixes around. For now I wish you the very best for the forthcoming year i.e. satisfying job (which will also let you mix as much as you want). If I remember well, you should be finishing your studies in the next year, so good luck on this tier too :) Cheers mate! |

Haha, no my webspace didn't have anything to do with my job. Thanks very much for the kind words and you do the same for the coming year. Hope to hear much more from you, musical and otherwise. :)

I think we should raise some money to pay his hosting bill. If everybody donated $1 you would probably get $30-50, maybe even more, Im guessing. I know that you have a big following here at TA and Im sure most of them would be willing to help out. Im kind of small time around here but I still enjoy being able to host my own mixes. I would be really bummed if I lost my host.
Im downloading it now and I plan on blasting it while I clean my apartment this afternoon. Cheers and best of luck in '07!
*EDIT: 55 min into it and it feels like a time warp. I got lost in this mix, next thing I knew time had flew by. I love every minute of this mix. I can definitely hear where you tried to add in some house flavor to it. I think you did a really good job at keeping the trance sound at the same time mixing in just a smidgen of house. I typically get turned off with house but you kept my interest peaked. I kept thinking you were going to go full on prog house but nope, the trance always came back. |
