After two months period it's time for a new mix. It's been a while since I last produced pure banging trance mix. Actually it turned out to be personally dedicated mix, so I was forced to include couple of tracks at possible programming's expense. But all in all I am aware of only one concern regarding build. I'm very happy with most of the transitions and I enjoy the final product very much. Talking about the music - you can hear lots of piano in this. Back in the days it all started with a piano for us: Robert Miles - Children. That is why the mix ends with Sean Tyas rework of this classic. Other crucial tunes here would be Super8 - Get Off (true beauty which appeared to be an ID of the night with Ferry Corsten this summer) and Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Sean Tyas Rework) which I simply adore. Apart from this adoration to Sean, the mix could be kinda influenced by Jon O'Bir, who I love for the tracks he's spinning. He got lots of my votes in 2006 year's dj contests. So enjoy the mix, here's the tracklist:
MoN-SooN - City Lights (81:56)
01 Vinny Troia feat. Jaidene Veda - Flow (Gareth Emery Remix)
02 Depeche Mode - Martyre (Paul Van Dyk Remix)
03 Super8 vs DJ Tab - Won't Sleep Tonight (Moody Dub Mix)
04 Kai Del Noi - Andromeda
05 Krivi - Bellavista
06 Super8 - Get Off
07 Estiva pres. Sunover - Tears Like Rain
08 Jon O'Bir - Ascendancy
09 Sunny Lax - M.I.R.A
10 Duende - Luna Negra (Original Mix)
11 Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Sean Tyas Rework)
12 Above & Beyond - Good For Me (Thomas Datt Remix)
13 Stoneface & Terminal - Super Nature
14 Ricky M vs Howard Shore - Evenstar
15 Robert Miles - Children (Sean Tyas 2006 Rework) |

| Work is super busy/nuts, but as soon as things calm down a bit I will give this a "proper listen" and let you know what I think! It figures that work would pick up as soon as I get your newest mix. :( |

Alright! This is the first mix containing all new trance that I've really liked. Tracks 1-5 don't particularly do anything for me, though the transitions are solid. For me, the mix really explodes when track 7 drops, that song is bangin'! Track 10 sounds very nice too, especially with M.I.R.A. preceding it.
Sean Tyas doesn't impress me with his Open Our Eyes remix, the Chiller Twist remix continues to be by far my favorite. In fact, I haven't really like anything Sean Tyas has produced. He's not a bad producer, I just feel like his work is neither exciting or original in a significant way. The mix into the Stoneface & Terminal track sounded a little harsh, love the guitar in that track though, and the outro mix into Evenstar sounds very cool. I like that track--isn't Howard shore the guy who did the soundtrack to Lord of the Rings? Weird. Anyways, the final Tyas track...hmmm...is the best thing I've heard from Sean Tyas yet, even though he uses that damn generic trance synth.
Thanks for posting the mix! Hope my comments provide insight. Favorite tracks are 7, 9, 10, 13, and 14. Those make my ears happy. Keep on tranglin'. |

Thanks for your in-depth review of the tracks :) Yes I know Sean is kinda repetitive and his sound isn't too original, but still I like this solid beat, no matter what is the melody :) PVD used to play/produce that type of tracks a few years ago and I miss it. Sean could be PVD's heir, but for now he's far too repetitive and his sets lack of nice building up IMHO.
And yes, Howard Shore is the guy who did the soundtrack. RickyM is the guy who remixed it. The track is posted here on TA forum: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...hlight=evenstar
I'm happy you enjoyed so many tracks, cheers for listening :) |

Excellant mix this!! Mixing, structure and tune selection is quality throughout, only thing is i couldn't help but think Ascendancy would of sounded better after Luna Negra.
Also where you get Above & Beyond - Good For Me (Thomas Datt Remix) from?? |
