I just wanted to know if all trance ends up as dance music.
Because I am not really into dancing and stuff, Im more interested in creating atmospheric, heavier trance...basically I just dont want any dancing. :whip:

hmm Ive heard of some chillout being classified as trance. early works by vangelis and jean michel jarre are also said to be a sort of stepping stone for trance yet theyre hardly dancable.

Interesting question. Personally, I've never danced in my life or set foot in a club, and yet I still enjoy trance. Therefore, I don't fully comprehend your reasoning... BUT... I can see where you are comming from. Perhaps you should simply listen to other genres of music...

I do go to clubs sometimes, but I never really dance much. Most trance is definitely "dance" music, though, in that is made by producers who have its impact in a dance club in mind.

There is def Ambient Trance. Most amazing chillout ever!!!!

It's a shame you won't dance, because it's one of the best things you could ever do as a human.

I have a theory why todays trance sometimes feels so dull, it's because the people who made the music never ever felt the magic of dancing.
Not saying that it's completely true but it certainly can give you an experience to base your music on. The deeper you go the more you get so to speak.

Also it's damn fun to dance :]

theres NOTHING better in this world than dancing to some great trance if the atmosphere is right... not even sex is better^^

But coldblack, what is the problem with listening to more dance-ish stuff? Does someone force you to dance? Or did you just want chilled music?
