This link is a decent start:

Guide to electronic music

Should give you some good points for a lot of musical exploration.

It is nice to know, that the guy who did that seems to consider all the trance subgenres a big joke.

(errr... all of them, besides psy and classic)

Wake up, we don't live in the 80's anymore! Music shouldn't be static in time, and it's impossible to be.
All the things evolute naturally (don't question the Darwin's evolution of species theory, please), so as music. And the trance that comes out today has still good tunes, amazing tunes.

Argh!

Darwin's theory is a good one, but it does not say that living things evolve to be "better" on a universal scale, only that they adapt to particular circumstances that arise -- "fitness" is relative to context. In this case, trance adopted itself to a pop structure and the result has been unsatisfactory to me and at least a few others. But your mileage may vary.

You did read the disclaimer, right?

For those who never real disclaimers.

No I didn't, actually.

Those things are made to not be read. :P

OK but, anyway, these days a lot of people like to announce that trance was a thing of the past (those "omfg, trance is DEAD!!!111ONEONEONE"), and I don't know if they do so just to be cool or if they really think that, but it's a compete nonsense, imho, trance is far from dead, but i agree that it may be far from what it were.

Christ. How many ing times? "Trance is dead" is not a literal statement. It's made for rhetorical effect to convey the author's message about trance.

And?

I have my right to disagree with the opinion of the person who said that, mainly if I think that it's far from true.

And equally you should respect his opinion if he thinks trance has taken a turn for the worst, rather than endlessly arguing a matter of taste.
