I've taken the liberty of making this thread to give our humble Gaming Forum a breath of fresh air. So far the only PSP owners I know are kid nyce and myself, but if you own one, please feel free to join in! If you are interested in one, ask any questions and we'll answer them to the best of our knowledge. If you don't LIKE PSP or think DS is better, yada yada yada, please do NOT post in this thread. Let's keep this one drama free, please.
My PSP is currently running firmware 1.50, but I have Devhook 0.52, with firmware 3.03 emulation capabilities.
What that means: I have the old firmware, but with this DevHook application, I can simulate the new firmware and play the latest PSP games, including Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. With my old firmware I can continue to play Nintendo and Super Nintendo.
The new firmware def. has some cool advantages as I stated in another thread: faster mp3 rewind/fast-forward, and now a built in visualizer. Also, 3.03 has the capability to network to your PS3, if you have one. (I still want one but will hopefully get it later this year.)
Feel free to add on. kid nyce, holla nigga!! |

It depends on the firmware the PSP comes with. http://pspupdates.qj.net/index.php has tons of PSP stuff, news, and downloads. I had upgraded my firmware (like an idiot) to 2.80, but eventually they released a downgrader program. There are even downgraders for the dreaded TA-082 motherboards, where if you tried to downgrade those you would "brick" your PSP (aka render it useless), but even now you can downgrade those models. |

Nice pic intermilan.
I'm beginning to regret selling my PSP. I sold it back in July to help pay for my 360. I just didnt play my PSP enough to warrant keeping it, and I play my 360 way more. Even so, the PSP still kicks ass, and with the right software, it can be turned into the ultimate gaming system.
I'm thinking of picking one up again once the price drops. Has anyone played that new puzzle game Every Extend Extra? Its from the makers of Lumines...just wondering if its any good. |
