needless to say i can't even look at it now

I can imagine that was Chernobyl after effect... There was a communist myth that cottage cheese would strengthen bones weakened by radiation. Not sure if its true but I can clearly remember cottage cheese mania between parents.

that .

fat for the win bitches.

words of a prophet

On topic: Anything that is labeled as "fat free" or "low fat" or "diet" automatically tastes a few times worse than their "normal" counterparts. My mom always tries to buy the low fat versions, and I hate it. Why can't they make "extra fat" things alongside the "low fat" things? That would rock.

On topic: yeah, my mom used to be pretty crazy about the cottage cheese too. Luckily I was very insistent about what I will and will not eat, so she did not try to feed it to me often. but there were two things that she consistently made that EVERYONE in our family hated, yet she kept on making it because it was healthy:

- Grechnevaya kasha (no idea what it is in English, but I know they have it here in Canada cause she keeps buying it)
- Liver

The combination of these two for dinner make for the most horrible experience ever. But it's high in vitamins!

It's not *that* bad.

Actually, yes it is. My grandma used to make me eat that all the time. :(

And partridge soup. Yuck. It didn't taste bad, but after watching the bird get shot and cleaned before I ate it, it kinda turned me off.

The ONLY good porridge is

"Cream of Wheat"

and "Red River" !

Love those two so much. They used to be staples in my diet as well. I should re-add them back in.

My buddy PK back in 3rd year uni who I lived with would always call my Red River porridge "bird seed"

He was not a fan. Would always makes jokes about me eating bird seed. ;) It was highly amusing.
