Thought I would share a mix from back in 99 when power 96 used to have George Alvarado play live from 2-4am on the Late Night Laboratory radio show. If you ever went to the Kit Kat club on Washington Ave, then this might bring you back =p I have a few more mixes from "The Professor" but I'll get to those eventually, hehe. Enjoy =)

I loved Trance since back then. But to say "WHEN TRANCE WAS TRANCE" is just crazy and for the most part, ignorant. I have been listening since back then and !! I love the Trance from back then .. But it, in no way compares to the quality of the music being made today. The trance today has evolved even though ignorant people say oh its all the same , it all sounds the same etc etc.. NO ING WAY !!! Just sounded unique cause it was basically a new genre. But i listen to some of the tunes some of these younger kids are pumping out and still some of the older producers that are still around and havent moved on to make "House" or some other genre of music and im blown away. I will listen to trance for as long as there is a dj around to play good trance. But NO WAY old trance is better then the new . So i am gonna have to disagree with you there carmine

i have tons of sets from George Alvarado and George Acosta way back when. Some of Acosta's sets are from the Spin nights. ing quality . My brother had some sort of recorder that enabled us to burn right from the radio to cd. Ownage!

I have some sets from back then too, on my Cassettes though. ANy ideas on how to transfer those to mp3 format would be awesome. I even recorded some sets been played around during the millenium party that Power 96 was broadcasting.. I got to record some very banging techno ( Im talking real techno ) .. so that would be cool. I would love to get my hand on those other sets you have.

I used to listen to this stuff back in the days as well. Memories! It's where I heard such classics as

Rhythm of Life - You put me in heaven (with your touch) (Thrillseekers remix) <- dying to use this in a mix
Some old BT tracks...can't remember the name right now.

Depends on what kind of cassette player/stereo you have. You could try getting a type of cable, one end from the stereo to your sound card's line in jack, if you have it, then use a program like total recorder to record the stream.
