Ignorant 18 year old:

If you know music better than anyone in here, why dont we go to shows to support you? How is it that you aren't a featured DJ playing every weekend in different cities and venues around the world? How is it that we are all so musically challenged, yet you know this all. How is it that you don't know that Sean has had many solo releases in addition to all of his personal and released remixes? The only way you could possibly know more then everyone here about music is if you made some sort of pact with satan himself... did you sell your soul to satan for trance music knowledge?

This was never a proper place to voice your opinion. You neither attended the event nor know what you are talking about. It is common practice to think that one knows everything when he is 18 so I would have pardoned your dumb-ass reply had you kept your mouth shut for the rest of the posts, yet obviously that did not happen.

Sean's journey in the name has trance has been a long and hard one. The amount of work this man has put into becoming who he is in the Trance Scene should not be disrespected. Sean has the most humble take on his growing success.. you should feel honored to be able to talk directly to him. If you had any type of respect for him or trance music in general you would have known that your "suggestions" would have found a better outlet in a private message.

Feel free to write back when you take your head out of your ass.

actually, im not smiling.. this is the exact problem with dance music of late.

it was fun as hell and carefree 5-10 years ago, even on the forums.. no one was putting down others to this degree, ok well of course it happened, but not like this where people have become overwhelmed with the ability to write their words and have them live for eternity from their bedrooms. its really sad actually, i see more people leaving trance music to go hunt after "higher forms" of music and what do they do when they think they find that, they look back and on all people who still like trance.

Why? whats the point? the whole scene was started as some means to create fun and positivity.. and the negativity i am witnessing over and over, unprovoked as well, is just frankly, embarassing. I thanked new york, yea so? actually it wasnt supposed to be a new thread even, i accidentally clicked new thread instead of new reply but oh well.

Oh no Sean, you're not smiling? This makes me so sad. Seriously. Please, please don't let one douchebag ruin it for you. I can't speak to 10 years ago (i'm a late bloomer,I was listening to death metal then), but you've got to understand that in any discussion of a genre, any topic, people with some kind of ax to grind are going to come out of the woodwork. In practice, I almost never come across people with this kind of negative energy. It's only in the forums, when people feel anonymous enough to let out the venom they feel out into the ether. I think this speaks much more to the individual's issues than to the EDM scene, for sure. This music makes me happier than pancakes and syrup. and i think it does the same for most people on this site. bitching notwithstanding.
Love, nothing but love.

Sean, It's not even worth you addressing the stupidity. You know the real deal, and so do many of us. There are always going to be haters. Just laugh at them for their ignorance is our bliss! Keep Rockin it Proper dawg!!!

BTW: Little Pat says what's up too!!!

Sean, you should be smiling because your only negative review was from one kid who wasn't even there ;) And for the fact that everyone at this party stood up for you in a heart beat.

I dont know if you ever read these forums but there are very few review threads with 100% postivity in the comments being said. Matter of fact, since I have moved to NYC, I have often complained of the stupid "checklist" that people put forth on parties ("oh GOD the bouncer/bathroom/mixing skills of one transition/etc....ruined my ENTIRE NIGHT") lol

In days where people are so critical of all the parties they go to, you ought to be proud that you were the guy who got some of these people of their high horses and enabled them just ENJOY the music and the night. I haven't seen something like this in years, sean, so be proud, that maybe you are a stepping stone in the process of returning the scene to its glory days of just having FUN. Thats whats important here. :) ;)

PS: colordancer: LOFL at the mistake with Konijn!! LOL!! I knew as soon as you wrote your response that it was directed at the kid, not Konijn. I was wondering how no one else didn't catch that!! :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Best way to look at it is that this kid not going to these events is that much more dancing room on the floor. :D

Just wanted to say that, thought I wasn't there, I d/l the set and after listening to it several times I can say that I really, really enjoyed it. I think there was an angry comment about the "progression" of the set which, quite frankly, I don't understand. If you look at the progression, Sean builds his set around arguably 2-3 vocal tracks. The Diary of Jane, which falls in the middle of the set, is one such example. With tracks like Lift, Domino (lyric-less tracks) surrounding his vocal tracks Sean can create a crescendoing effect that climaxes around those tracks with lyrics. In my opinion, this is an example of one way to build a good set and to say that this set has no progression is to take an uneducated approach to music. A good set trance set is essentially like a good trance track - with dips, dives, build-ups and climaxes.

Opinions allow for someone to dislike track selection - but I'd hope that comments on set makeup would resemble a more critical approach than simply saying the set had no progression. Keep up the great work, Sean.
