OK so im sure all of you reading this get your ass out every once in a while to some shows in the mpls area. you know, myth, karma, annex, barfly, ect.
Well show some love and vote for the best club DJ. and no it's not what your thinking like stargate or spin; TA music!!

Yes it is true, the Twin Cities DJ awards are back.
Some of you on here may be from minneapolis and have heard me round town. Maybe opening for DJ Irene, Cosmic Gate, Darude (3 times), George Acosta, Psychobitch... to name a few! If so and ya liked what ya heard, would love your vote.

and download some mixes. "Boing", "IMAGINE-Nation", "One Minute in Heaven" are all old trance mixes of mine. You'll love em. Lots of classics in there. "Sensation" and "Deca-Dance" My two newer ones, are more housed up and electro, but Deca-Dance has alot of trancey electro overtones. You'll love it as well.

actually im the one that started the thread, sorry if you all arn't that familiar w/ EJ but i thought i'd help a friend out. Check out his myspace. It'll be worth your time.
...and there are a lot missing from that list!

Wow, what a joke.
Normally I'd come nowhere near a thread like this, but I don't want anyone to even begin to think that this is representative of the MPLS music scene. I have no gripes not being included on the list, as I completely realize that most people have no idea who I (or The Hamptons) am/are, but that list is completely unrepresentative of the people who bust their ass for the MPLS music scene. Not only that, but the people who are included are in many cases wholly mislabeled.
People who do more than anyone for the MPLS scene but aren't included:
-Phil Martinez
-Dustin Zahn
-Zak (DVS1)
-Swoope
-Johnny Plastik (and the whole KB crew)
And a few glaring -ups by whoever came up with that list:
Nate Vox - "retired" in March, probably hasn't played @ Escape in 2 years I would guess
Jack Trash - doesn't have any "residencies", again has had no affiliation with Escape in years
Hart Thorson - was a barback @ Karma for a while...I guess that counts as a residency. oh and they spelled his name wrong
I only single out these ones cuz I know these guys the best, but I'm sure it's littered with other inaccuracies.
And for "not being Stargate & Spin" there are an awful lot of Stargate and Spin residents listed. And I would also include Barfly, The Annex, Drink, and Escape in with those two. The fact that this thing is being presented @ The Annex just about kills any remaining shred of dignity this would have imo. The Annex has not hosted any sort of notable EDM event....in well.....ever.
In any case, I would suggest voting for Jack Trash. |

Yes, but as has been stated here oh so many time before - We tolerate promotion of the people who participate in the forum and make it a better place, not people who are here solely to promote their own agenda and contribute nothing further to the forum.
Furthermore, this pathetic attempt at a local DJ list is an absolute mockery. The fact that any promotion would try to emulate such a cancer on our scene makes me want to vomit.
Luckily, knowing Charley and Dan, and a few other Minneapolis locals, I know this isn't even remotely representative of the very happening scene in the Twin Cities - I can't wait to get back up there :)
