I know who our enemies are. The ones taking away our liberties and freedoms and butchering the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The terrorist hate our freedoms right? Well, they're doing a good job of making most people paranoid about some non-existant network. They terrorized most of us into going to war over WMDs that don't exist eigther. I'd say it's pretty clear who our enemies are. They rushed in the Patrior Act right after 9-11. Later on, they passed the Military Commissions Act & Detainee Bill, nulifying atleast 4 of the constitutional amendmants, including Habeas Corpus. |

Yeah, failing that you can also make some enemies and develop a culture of 'the morning hate' on the news for citizens to enjoy. 911 was the wake up call that fell from heaven like a lotto ticket, (I dont really submit to the conspiracies around 911) but they sure milked that bastard for all it was worth.
All these little myopic eyes opened up all over the country and saw "hey heck! There is the rest of the world out there aside from Mexico for holidays and Canada for skiing!"
Next thing we know, Hindu's and Sikh's are having a garbage can or gutter grate thrown through the shop window.
State- "Wrong brown people damn it!"
US- "Collective DOH!"
State- "Those ones damnit!"
US- "RRRRRAAAAAH!"

I know you don't like what they're doing to it (it's the current that drives just about every post you do) however I don't think you've ever stated WHAT it stands for to you.
I'm asking because I (or I'm sure no one here) don't know and yes, it does make a difference. |

agreed. and yes, the US has certainly ed up a lot across the world, but where is it written that coz you ed something up you cant try to change it?
you know why the korean war is called the forgotten war? coz it was right for the west to be there. if it had have been wrong we'd still be ing hearing about it to this day.
im not saying you shouldnt criticise US foreign policy, but this view that the US has been nothing but since columbus just isnt true. |

Anyone else remember Rambo III? Yeah.....Oh what's that Sly, the Afghan freedom fighters are great people and we should promote the fact that our government is giving them arms with a movie so they can turn around and attack us when they don't have to fight the commies anymore. ing brilliant if I do say so myself.
That short bit pretty much sums up the theme of U.S. foreign policy since the 70's. Lets arm these guys so they can fight someone we don't like now without thinking about who they're going to fight if and when they run out of targets. |
