On a more serious note, that's in part true, what's called capitalism today that is. Kinda hard to be slaves when a real free market actually exists. And by a "real free market," I'm not referring to something that would only exist in theory ;). |

In all seriousness it wouldn't have taken a great amount of imaginative thought or foresight to see what arming the mujahadeen would get us into. They liked us about as much as we really liked them, but at the time we were a little more caught up with beating the commies than thinking about what would come about after the mujahadeen ran out of commies to shoot at. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon intellect to see that these people didn't like us, but it was convienient for us so who cares. The public won't ever know that we helped create Al Qaeda. |

Well it was either let the people who really
didn't like us take over or help the guys
who might not like us too much but might be
appreciative over the help.
But either way the extremists are a very small
miniority and they have the beef with us for
many different reasons. I wouldn't say the entire
mujahadeen hated us or in general most Muslims
hate us enough to take up arms. They're mostly
moderates, they want what we all want, peace,
time with the family, secure financially, and
enough to eat, the basics. Then others want power,
want everything strict ala-taliban style. I think
most of the Afgans are happy the Taliban and thier
religion police are gone. |

good to see that Georey bushy boy is supplying ammunition that contains depleted uranium....great leader who gives a about his nations soldiers who are fighting a war that they created and that has achieved very little.
Georgy boy wants to send more troops down? why? he should bring the boys home as he's yet again, achieved nothing more than casualties.
Sometimes I think's its some peoples wish to have a world that excludes the US...It's a nation that has a seperate agenda to most....it's Nazi Germany all over again.
and guys, drop the whole taliban/al Qaeda thing, it's a load of that's been ramped by the media and a scapegoat for events surrounding 9/11....don't give into the bull....the US government is more extremist than the 'claimed' extremist groups. Lets not forget who tells the news now. |
