**** couples that make you sick (pg. 7)

When my boyfriend and I first got together, A LOT of our friends were jealous, it was kind of ed up. We never went out of our way to rub in people's faces how happy we were, but we just had that enviable "hot-for-each other" chemistry going on.

We actually tried to keep our relationship a secret, but apparently it was too obvious to hide.

But yeah, it was pretty ty how a lot of our friends hated on us for that. Surprise, surprise though...most of them are still bitter and single, hahaha.

edit: +1 to what Theresa said.

What is so wrong with people being loving toward each other?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If you are in a said relationship, there aren't many natural feelings that get better than that. And if you are on the outside, looking in on another relationship, it can be beautiful too. What I'm saying is the people that overcompensate by being OBCESSED with each other. The ones that are each other's entire life with the whole "we are soooooo happy, it's a dream come true bull". Yes, it's pretty apparent to notice that IF that's the case, but most of the times with the couples that rub it in your face about how great off they are, it comes across as very fake.

Let me guess - you're in another one of those bitter 'I hate the world' moods, after a night of drinking and partying?

Haha...Bingo. I wake up to threads I don't remember making. :p

Things will be cool again sometime soon Caela.

Til then, pot + booze + partying = temporary great success.

:stongue: What's with the "temporary"?? That seems like a life plan for success.

I tried. In the long term, it just doesn't work out. :(

It surprises me how people showing affection and love freaks people out so much that they would go to the extent of calling it disgusting, uncomfortable, stupid etc.

What is so wrong with people being loving toward each other? I mean, we as a society seem to have no qualms about people screaming and yelling and fighting, but when it comes to love and people genuinely caring about each other, it becomes "gross".

WTF???

Are you that jaded that you cannot appreciate something so beautiful as love? The ONLY time I could think it would be disgusting is if they were groping each other etc. but just being cute and mushy is sweet and endearing.

I don't understand how something as wonderful as love could project such negative feelings in people. I would imagine it would instead spark a bit of happiness, or optimism in some.

AND this is coming from someone who has had their heart brutally broken. So, that is no excuse :p

It concerns me that socially, the western culture is more accepting to negative/agressive behaviour toward each other moreso than loving/caring interactions. It begs the question; what the is wrong with us? LOL!

That's *not* quite what she was talking about, I don't think.
