Yes, that was what stopped Sampras's streak at Wimbledon.
Sampras won 7 of 8 Wimbledons, so it woulda been 8 straight....
|
Richard Krajicek beat Sampras in 1996, otherwise he would've had 8 in a row.
Federer stopped Sampras' bid to tie Bjorn Borg's Open Era record of 5 in a row. |

Gonzalez will be served (pun intended) in 3. Federer might sweep the Grand Slams this year if Nadal continues to slip like he has.
and YES I think Nadal is his only real "challenge" in todays game. |
I'm with you on this...I think the ladies' final will be interesting to watch but unfortunately I'm going to have to miss it :(. I won't miss the grunting contest between Maria and Serena though :gsmile: (hoping for a late Saturday re-broadcast) |

| Strong win by Williams, even though I dislike her most on the Womens Tour. |

Ho-hum, Federer won the title.
Without losing a set! Gonzalez had a set point in the 1st set, but couldn't convert.
Federer lost hardly any points on his serve in the 2nd and 3rd sets. |
