Sampras won 7 of 8 Wimbledons, so it woulda been 8 straight....

Richard Krajicek beat Sampras in 1996, otherwise he would've had 8 in a row.
Federer stopped Sampras' bid to tie Bjorn Borg's Open Era record of 5 in a row.

Gonzalez will be served (pun intended) in 3. Federer might sweep the Grand Slams this year if Nadal continues to slip like he has.

and YES I think Nadal is his only real "challenge" in todays game.

I'm with you on this...I think the ladies' final will be interesting to watch but unfortunately I'm going to have to miss it :(. I won't miss the grunting contest between Maria and Serena though :gsmile: (hoping for a late Saturday re-broadcast)

Strong win by Williams, even though I dislike her most on the Womens Tour.

looks even so far. i am going to bed after this first set tho. hope federer wins and maybe they'll put him in a league with superspeed six armed aliens... who'll he'll dominate too.

benjamin
go Roger, and win without losing a set

Ho-hum, Federer won the title.
Without losing a set! Gonzalez had a set point in the 1st set, but couldn't convert.
Federer lost hardly any points on his serve in the 2nd and 3rd sets.
